Snowboarding
The skilled craftspeople behind King Shit Skateboarding magazine are peddling a new product this month: it’s called King Snow and it was guest art directed by Andrew Pommier. Here’s what they’re saying about it:
Ben Bilocq took our first ever cover, breaking the laws of reality by having two photos of the same trick on one image, thanks to photographer Oli Gagnon. . . Then Natalie Langmann investigated a few members of the Gypsy Mob and got to the bottom of what goes through the minds of these Winnipeg-born rippers. . . Tracey Anderson and Feet Banks terrorized Jess Kimura, Jed Anderson and Alex Cantin with some AMBUSH interviews. Yobeat’s Brooke Geery made it all the way over to downtown Portland to cover SnowBoy Production’s Backyard Bang and aside from getting some great photos, she also got the super VIP treatment.
Not only was there a VIP area with free food and beer, provided by Kona Brewing, who also gave away a trip to Hawaii to some lucky bastard, but the jam was short, sweet and interesting. The new and improved SnowBoy productions set up included a brand new box jump, and let’s face it, all rail jams need more air.
Sounds like everything we could ever ask for in a contest and snowboarding, too. Look at Johnnie Paxon getting on it.

Following in the footsteps of Barack Obama, former Olympic snowboarder Ross Rebagliati has written a book and entered politics, according to a story in the Whistler Question.
Rebagliati — who lives with his wife Alexandra and five-month-old son Ryan in Kelowna — on Friday (Oct. 23) announced his candidacy for the Liberal Party nomination in the riding of Okanagan-Coquihalla in the next federal election. . . “It was going to be an election without an option, basically,” Rebagliati said in an interview. “I felt like there needed to be a choice for the constituents.”
Rob’s wrife Alexandra is temporarily running his campaign.
