by The Editors on April 7, 2011

Neil Blender x Vans x Thalia Tonight

by The Editors on April 7, 2011

Neilxvansxthalia

Aside from being the originator of the Lien air, many credit Neil Blender with creating the entire skater-as-artist ethos. We don’t disagree. And tonight those in Southern California can get an up-close and personal view of exactly how this happened as the Vans Thalia Surf Shop hosts a show of some of Neil’s classic work as well as the new Vans signature clothing line he designed for surfer Joel Tudor.

The Neil Blender for Vans show opens tonight (April 7, 2011) at 6 PM. The Vans Thalia Surf Shop is located at 915 South Coast Highway, in Laguna Beach, California.

by The Editors on April 7, 2011

Leave it to skateboarders to make the most of a terrible New Zealand Christchurch earthquake situation. Seems skaters are always looking on the bright side of every darkness.

NHS Gets A Grip On Bud Smith

by The Editors on April 6, 2011

Mr GriptapeIf everyone got a Jim Phillips graphic as cool as Mob Grip’s new Sales Manager Bud “Mr. Griptape” Smith did when he was hired, we’d be running all kinds of business promotional news bits.

“Mob Grip is first and foremost a great product,” says Bud. “When you add amazing team riders and marketing, consistent quality and an innovative high performance product offering, it truly is a complete package. It’s all backed by a focused skateboard company committed to re-investing in skateboarding. I am very excited to be involved. I have no doubt the future looks bright.”

Sure enough. [click to continue…]

Ludwig Van x Vans

by The Editors on April 5, 2011

We don’t usually get all into the sneaker thing, but this new collection of Vans Eras from Ludwig Van is pretty dope. If you’re in LA on the evening of April 7, 2011 stop by Conveyor at Fred Segal in Santa Monica for the roll out party, then cruise over to Cheetahs Strip Club and catch Atiba and Ako (a.k.a. The Black Outs) for Altamont Music Night.

etnies x Autism Speaks Skate Clinics

by The Editors on March 28, 2011

Autism Etniesetnies has teamed up with autism groups Autism Speaks and A.Skate Foundation to present for a skateboarding clinic on April 2, 2011 at the etnies Skatepark in Lake Forest, California. Four one-hour clinics will be offered at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Kids of all ages are welcome to attend!

“By providing a day of skate clinics, kids on the autism spectrum will be given the opportunity to learn how to skateboard, an activity that requires no team or competitive coaching,” said Don Brown, senior vice president of marketing for etnies. “Skateboarding is an individual activity and ideal for kids on the spectrum because they often struggle with social interaction. As a brand started and still run by a world-championship skateboarder Pierre-André Senizergues, etnies is so happy to be teaching what we know to kids that deserve a window into the world of skateboarding where we are all the same, whether you are on the spectrum or not.”

For more information on the Skate Clinics or on Austism Speaks and A.Skate Foundation follow the jump. [click to continue…]
