Yesterday, while skating doubles with Kevin Staab at Kona Skatepark in Florida, Tony Hawk something “went wrong.”
Now Tony says this is his new look. We have to say, the photo of his missing tooth is much better than this one taken directly after the mishap.
On the upside, now he’ll be able to roll around undetected in Jacksonville.

The Maloof Money Cup announced it Pro and Am roster for the Washington, D.C. event September 3-4, 2011 at RFK Stadium’s Festival Grounds and it is stacked.
Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, and Dennis Busenitz on on the list, plus Greg Lutzka is going to defend his title going after what Maloof is calling the “richest purse in skateboarding.” Take that Street League. Top skaters from this even are going to Africa for the World Championships, apparently.
Skaters who finish in the top 16 based on combined scores from New York and D.C., will earn a spot on the Maloof All Pros, which was started by Joe Maloof this year to recognize the top skateboarders in the world, and send them to the Maloof Money Cup World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa Sept. 28-Oct 2.

SUPRA has signed Neen Wiliams to their team so he can skate full time in the Skytop III.
“They’re really good to skate in,” Neen said about the Skytop III. “It takes the ‘pact real nice. You can jump down whatever you want and it won’t fuck up your feet or your heels.”

Bowl slayer Kevin Kowalski finally won one after coming up a little short at the Converse Coastal Carnage by winning the Ultrabowl Pro III, according to a post on Skatedaily.net. Click the link for full results.

Weezy appears to be on the skateboard tip pretty hard these days. We saw him at Skatepark of Tampa earlier this month, and now according to a story on TMZ Lil Wayne has nine stitches in his head.
Weezy was treated at a local hospital — and one witness told a local TV station the rapper was accompanied by several members of his entourage. According to the hospital, Wayne was treated and released.
Looks like he’s learning the truth: skateboarding hurts.

Just as his video part in World Industries‘ It’s Your World was about to drop we get word that Jani Laitiala is no longer with the company.
“Working with Jani has been fun. He is a great skateboarder and I wish him and his family all the best.” said World Industries Team Manager Charlie Thomas. “I look forward to seeing him at upcoming events and hearing where he ends up.”
And no, if you’re wondering, Laitiala’s footage will not be included in the World video release, but they hope to see “Jani put out his footage through his own efforts in the near future.” Follow the jump for the official release. [click to continue…]

It’s good to see pro skateboarders doing well as they get older, have kids, and roll forward. Ray Barbee seems to have things pretty much in tune if this Strange Notes @Home clip is any indication.
