Flow & The Rise of Superman

Years ago, (seems like a lifetime now) I rolled in late-night to a bar called Whiskey Creek in Mammoth Lakes, California. It was a weeknight and the place was half empty, but the other half was all local: goggle tanned ski instructors, lift ops on their last dollar, off duty cat drivers, and bored, alcoholic wives of the idle rich scattered around the room. The band had just finished playing and I made the mistake of rolling up to the bar next to an older guy who had already been there too long. He turned, one hand on an old fashioned, looked me straight in the eye and before I could say hey, said, “I’m working out a way to put anyone in “the zone” any time they want.”

Ashbury Brings Back The Elph

Ashbury Eyewear kicks down a pleasant reminder that you don’t need a Red Epic (or even a GoPro Hero 3+) to get some good, fun, snowboarding down in an edit. Here Jake Kuzyk, Mike Hakker, Darrell Mathes, Luke MacMaster, Adam Morales, Sean Black, and Ryan Townley slide it up at Southern California’s Bear Mountain all captured with a tiny little point and shoot Canon Elph. Elena Hight Has Hight Hopes For Sochi

Swtichfoot Fades West On Film

On December 10, 2013 the band Switchfoot is releasing their first feature tour film Fade West on all the leading Video On Demand platforms in the US including X Box and Sony Playstation.

Inspired by such films as Rattle and Hum and Endless Summer, Fading West follows Switchfoot as they travel the globe in search of new musical inspiration and perfect waves. Directed by Matt Katsolis and Executive Produced by Greenlight Media & Marketing and Switchfoot, the film was shot during their 2012 World Tour and charts the creation of the San Diego-based band’s upcoming ninth album in its earliest and most unpredictable stages.

Jon and Tim Foreman get what look like some great waves all over the world and Rob Machado even shows up in the film to surf and say those things he says about how similar surfing and music are. For more info and the official word from Switchfoot, follow the jump.
