JVC Goes Pro With Action Camera

by The Editors on June 28, 2012

Jvc-Adixxion-580X452JVC, one of the sleeping Japanese electronics giants, has apparently decided that it wants a piece of that action sports personal video market with the launch of the Adixxion GC-XA-1. (Addiction, get it?), according to a post on Slashgear.com.

The camera weighs 0.28 pounds and is waterproof to a depth of 16.4 feet, shockproof with the ability to survive a drop from 6.5 feet up, and it’s dustproof and freeze proof as well. The outside of the camera is covered with a scratch resistant rubber texture and the rear LCD is a 1.5-inch unit. The camera also has dual standard tripod holes for mounting the camera on a tripod. . . Integrated Wi-Fi functionality allows the camera to sync with a smartphone wirelessly to frame a shot and check recording even when the camera is mounted in a spot that you can’t reach easily.

Sounds like just the camera we’ve been looking for.

by The Editors on May 30, 2012

Who wouldn’t be excited to have 11-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater on their team, but did GoPro really need give Mr. Slater a new middle name? Apparently they did. And it is “Fucking.” And it’s about fucking time fucking Kelly fucking Slater got some fucking recognition for being Kelly Fucking Slater. Fuck.

[Editors’ Note: Yes, this is the second time we’ve used this over fucking use of the fucking fuck word for comedic effect. But that’s just because we’re a sustainable business. We recycle cuss words because they’re so hard on the environment.]

Skullcandy Taking It In The Shorts

by The Editors on May 29, 2012

SkullcandyAction headphone company Skullcandy has the honor of being one of the most shorted stocks on the market, but that hasn’t seemed to have slowed the stock down so much lately, according to a blurb on Investorguide.com.

While this should be discouraging news for most companies, an increasing number of analysts are turning bullish on the stock, believing that the stock is set to rally strongly on the inevitable short squeeze. Skullcandy has beat Wall Street estimates for the past four quarters. Meanwhile, institutional ownership of the stock has climbed from 50% to 69.18% in a single quarter, while short interest has risen from 5.1 million to 10.3 million.

It would seem that almost everyone has an opinion on Skullcandy’s future these days. We’re giving it a neutral.

Brain Farm’s New Schiebel Cineflex Drone

by The Editors on April 18, 2012

Brain Farm has just shut down the “who has the coolest camera” race with the Schiebel Camcopter S-100 unmanned Cineflex camera.

The S-100 navigates via pre-programmed GPS waypoints or is operated with a pilot control unit. Missions are planned and controlled via a simple point-and-click graphical user interface. The pair of these two high advanced systems gives us the ability to capture fully stabilized high quality images with ease.

Good lord. We can hardly wait to see this little UAV fitted out with proper energy drink logos. . .
