by The Editors on September 6, 2011

Supra-Commemorative-Pack

It’s a set of shoe style we’ve never worn, but we know there are some people who’ll be after this limited edition Supra double pack featuring the Skytop II and the Society.

The uppers on both shoes are enveloped in varying shades of solemn, grey Nubuck, trimmed with black kidskin leather accents. Each style features a never-before-seen, single wrap, white honeycomb foxing, and a grey sole. Custom sock liners read, “Never Forget,” and each comes with an NYFD inspired hang tag. Only 413 pairs of each shoe were produced, and they are sequentially numbered on the interior of each shoe. Proceeds from the Commemorative Pack will be donated to charity.

The commemorative pack will be available at Suprafootwear.com and only nine shops worldwide. Follow the jump for more info. [click to continue…]

by The Editors on September 4, 2011

Kooey WestIn April 2011 Western Australia’s West Surfing Product announced they were looking for buyer and now, it appears they have found one in the Silverthorne family, owners of the Perth swimwear label Kooey Australia. Some American’s (not likely readers of Boardistan) may know the company as the official swimwear provider for the Miss Teen USA pageant.

“This acquisition represents a significant step for both Kooey and West in our strategy designed to accelerate growth in both businesses,” said Nikki Silverthorne, Director and Designer of Kooey. “We are now focused on seizing the opportunities in both local and international markets that this transaction has created for us. We are looking forward to delivering on the promise of this acquisition to build both brands exponentially and with speed.”

Kind of cool that the brand will remain a Western Australian company. Follow the jump for all the details. [click to continue…]

Pac Sun Loses $19.3 Million More

by The Editors on August 24, 2011

Pacsun LogoPacific Sunwear has reported their financial results for its quarter ending July 30, 2011 and guess what? They lost $19.3 million. Of course, they’re pitching this as a good thing because they loss less than they lost last year at this time, and they beat analysts’ forecasts. In other “good” news, while total sales fell, sales at stores open longer than a year were actually up one percent, according to a story on Forbes.

“Until recently we had expected this positive momentum to continue, yet we are now more cautious in our near-term outlook due to a combination of factors including macroeconomic pressure, along with a highly promotional start to the back-to-school season,” said President and CEO Gary Schoenfeld.

Losing less is good. Just give Mr. Schoenfeld a few more years and things will probably get right back on track. Or maybe he just loves hitting two-year stock price lows.

Stance Socks x Kid Creature

by The Editors on August 21, 2011

Kidxstance

Stance has added another artist to their Fall 2011 Artist Series with a collection of socks in collaboration with Kid Creature.

Calvin Saxton, a.k.a. Kid Creature, is a 11 year old kid with a huge love for life. His early childhood was hampered by severe allergies and asthma. Calvin used to plead that his parent let him surf because he actually felt much better and healthier when he was in the water. He’s been in the water ever since, becoming an avid surfer, which helps tremendously in those bouts with asthma.

Cal donates 10 percent of the profits from Kid Creature to help fight cycstic fibrosis, so buying his Stance socks will send some money to a good cause. For all the details, follow the jump. [click to continue…]
