Pro shreds Tara Dakides and Torah Bright will appear in a new feature film based on the Kate Lace romance novel Chalet Girl, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Billed as a romantic comedy, the story details the story of a young girl from a working class suburb who lands a job in an ultra-glam ski resort, where she’s totally out of her depth until she discovers her natural snowboarding genius — and the boss’s gorgeous son.
The story is reportedly the retelling of Cinderella as a snowboarder (played by Felicity Jones). Roxy and Quiksilver are reportedly providing “branding” for the film which is being directed by All About Steve’s Phil Traill. Filming isMammoth Mountain going on this week in St. Anton.

We’ve been wondering for a while how the whole Stab Magazine Tales of A Fucking Jew Mick Fanning story came about. Today the writer Charlie Smith was kind enough to recount his side on the Stab Magazine site.
The events of Saturday night, December 12, have taken on an apocryphal glow. I had been invited to Mick Fanning’s celebration at the Rip Curl house by Rip Curl’s international media manager Dane Sharp. I was introduced to surfing journalist Tim Baker. Tim and I talked for some time. He explained to me that he did not enjoy what I did. Said that it was too negative and the point of surfing is a positive communal experience. He also did not like that I had written that Mick Fanning was boring and asked if I had ever met Mick. I answered no. He told me that Mick is a great guy and I should meet him. Mick was standing near and alone. Tim went over and I followed. Mick was angry and called me a fucking Jew. I was dragged out of the house by security.
This is only the first paragraph. If you believe you have an opinion on the topic, please read the rest.

Three stops. Three arenas. Top pros. $1 million in prize money. And Chris Cole, Ryan Sheckler, Greg Lutzka, Torey Pudwill, PJ Ladd, Sean Malto, Mike Mo Capaldi, Mikey Taylor, Billy Marks, Tommy Sandoval, and Paul Rodriguez have all apparently committed “to multi-year contracts” to compete “exclusively” in the Street League. It would seem that Rob Dyrdek is going to pull off his Street League Skateboarding tour.
Street League™ is the culmination of more than five years of development, which began with a professional contest Dyrdek held at the opening of the world’s first skate plaza he built in Kettering, Ohio in 2005. Building on the knowledge gained from this event, Dyrdek and his team began planning for the launch of the league, consulting for and developing several major skateboarding events to serve as additional case studies.
IMG Action Sports, the go-to event production company in the industry, is producing and executing Street League™ in 2010. The worldwide leader in skate park design and construction, California Skateparks™, will provide skate plaza construction. Instant Scoring Experience™ is a partnership between MXi, Dialsmith, and Street League™.
Our question is what exactly does “exclusive” mean? Does this mean P-Rod, Sheckler, Cole et. al will not be doing The Dew or milking the Maloof? We don’t know. Follow the jump for more.

Sunny Abberton has the Bra Boys family industry running in the reality TV direction if reports on News.com.au are to be trusted.
HAVING conquered the big screen with their super successful self-titled documentary, the Bra Boys are now on the cusp of consolidating an offer for a reality-TV series. . . Word on the beach is the show will be a “fly-on-the-wall” look at the lives of the notorious Maroubra siblings, and may even see pin-up of the surfing gang Koby Abberton return to school.
Sunny and Koby are apparently looking for a way to show their “more humorous side.” This should be good.

O’Neill is rolling out their latest green, eco-marketing project called ECO’Neill (get it?) with help from “soulful roots-reggae artist and waterman, Mishka.”
Mishka will be giving audiences a preview of the collection during his album tour starting this week, and will be contributing to the creative process and design of upcoming ECO’Neill styles. Later this year, he will be featured in related advertising, POP, mobile marketing and social media efforts from O’Neill to support the introduction of ECO’Neill t-shirts, tanks, beanies and boardshorts hitting stores next Spring.
The ECO’Neill line will feature “100 percent organic” T-shirts and boardshorts made from “recycled plastic bottles.” Because when we buy throw-away logo T-shirts that use our bodies as billboards we’re confident knowing organic cotton farmers are getting paid.
