Seems Salomon’s Jed Anderson is making the rounds these days with his wild antics both on and off the snow. Here are some of Mr. Anderson’s finer moments of skate and snow footage from last year. Sorry, while there’s lots of high-fives and bro hugging there is no boy kissing included in this edit.

More snow shred action from Rip Curl, Absinthe Films, and Victor De Le Rue.
Victor DE LE RUE is an amazing rider who raised his riding skills to another level last season. Riding steep icy lines, massive kickers in the BC or simply playing with natural terrain in Alaska, Victor can do it all.
Yes, it appears that he can.

We’re always interested in people’s side project (wonder why?). And snow photographer Oli Gagnon has a great one–drumming in the “doom metal” band Hoopsnake. This is their first music video titled Curse of the White Widow. It has all the key elements: heavy bass, banging drums, strangulation, decapitation, masturbation, amputation, cannibalism, and a zombie. But we don’t want to ruin it for you. Just watch it. For an interview with Gagnon click the link.

Don’t be fooled. Everyone needs a new pair of goggles. That old pair that you think is all good just spent the summer packed up and crushed in a dank snowboard bag. They’ve most likely been mangled in the process. That’s why these Spy Bravos may be the perfect gift for the 2014-15 season.

Sunset came alive today and so did Dusty Payne as he edged ASP world title contender Gabriel Medina in the Round of 64 at the Vans World Cup of Surfing.
Payne, 26, was electric, opening the 30-minute heat with an outrageous under-the-lip late airdrop, followed by a string of high speed, carving turns. His wave selection was flawless and proved to be the distinguishing factor between him and Medina; Medina’s waves being substantially smaller and thereby limiting his scoring potential. Medina’s final scoreline was 12.17, for a 6.5 and a 5.67, compared with Payne’s 8.17 and 8.0. . . “It’s always nice to compete with the top dogs,” said Payne. “Beating Gabe doesn’t really mean anything except I get to cruise to the next round. It doesn’t really mean much. I was just looking to go and try to get two fun waves. I’m just having fun and the waves keep coming, and I just keep smiling. It’s fun!”

Want to feel completely insignificant, unworthy, and small? If you’re on the North Shore tomorrow (December 4, 2014) head over to Waimea at 3 PM for the opening ceremony of the 30th Annual Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau. There you will experience the bone crushing weight of Hawaiian surfing, spirit, and soul. Standing near the circle of big wave warriors as they receive a blessing from the Aikau family has a way of communicating the royal reverence Hawaii has for surfing in a way that is rarely (if ever) equalled.
The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau was last held on December 9, 2009, and was won by California’s Greg Long. Long-range surf forecasts are currently eyeing the development of a potential “Eddie”-sized swell that could also arrive around December 9. The event has only been held a total of 8 times.

We’ve never been all that hyped on getting socks for Christmas, but that was before we slipped into these Stance Wittlake five-toe compression socks. These things are designed for snowboarding, but once our feet were in them we realized they’re pretty good for everything from kicking around the house, to rolling skateparks in the winter.
For this sock Stance partnered with Scotty Wittlake and Injinji. The Wittlake features Injinji’s patented five-toe design, which properly aligns toes for natural movement. To enhance circulation and reduce fatigue, the sock provides varying degrees of compression throughout the lower leg. And to keep things extra comfy, the Wittlake sports a beefy shin cushion, arch support, and a deep heel pocket. Follow your toes to freedom.
After wearing these 51 percent merino wool socks around for a couple days it feels almost wrong to have all our toes crammed next to each other in our shoes. Believe the five-toe hype. The Stance Wittlake’s retail for $32 and can be purchased right here.

The West is currently getting pummeled by its first real winter storm of the 14-15 season and the snow is beginning to pile up (we know, everyone else already got theirs). So as a reminder for what it’s going to be like tomorrow morning, here’s a little taste of the Canadian Chronicles with Zeal Optics riders Andrew Burns, Craig Beaulieu and Jake Bauer.

For years we’ve been trying to figure out downhill skateboarding, and now, thanks to Arbor Skateboards’ and Caliber Trucks’ new full-length film Grade it’s beginning to make much more sense. Or, in all honest, less sense, as in these guys will scare you senseless with their non-stop hill bombing.
Tag along with James Kelly, Liam Morgan, Tyler Howell, Brandon Tissen, and Jordan Riachi as they travel to some of the most critical and challenging roads in the world. GRADE was filmed on location in Mexico, Hawaii, Northern Sierras, Laguna Beach, Australia, and Switzerland.
Sheesh. The whole film is here, watch it.
