Brain Farm has just shut down the “who has the coolest camera” race with the Schiebel Camcopter S-100 unmanned Cineflex camera.
The S-100 navigates via pre-programmed GPS waypoints or is operated with a pilot control unit. Missions are planned and controlled via a simple point-and-click graphical user interface. The pair of these two high advanced systems gives us the ability to capture fully stabilized high quality images with ease.
Good lord. We can hardly wait to see this little UAV fitted out with proper energy drink logos. . .

Yeah, this has nothing to do with snowboarding, skateboarding, or surfing but so what. Aaron Draplin is interesting. The designs he creates are interesting, and more than that, the stories he tells are interesting (even after the third of fourth telling). So here. . . get interested in the Field Notes story.

Aaron Salta, a musician from Geelong, Australia, who is trying to skateboard 2,000 km to “raise awareness about depression,” got a ticket today (April 17, 2012), according to a story in the Herald Sun.
Mr Salta, 30, [was] less than 200km north of his destination of Adelaide. . . [when a] a South Australian motorcycle police officer . . . fined him $108 for riding a “toy” on a road that has a speed limit greater than 50km/h.
We have to admit, Salta does look like he’s just begging for police harassment, doesn’t he?

Billabong has officially closed on the sale of controlling interest in Nixon to Trilantic Capital Partners, according to a story in The Australian.
The company said it needed the cash from the sale to clean up its balance sheet, and halve its debt from $525.6m to about $250m. . . Billabong’s largest shareholder, Perennial Investment Partners, criticised the company for selling one of its best-performing assets, while another private equity group, TPG Capital, made a $765m takeover offer for the company on the condition that it not sell the Nixon stake.
All that and they still have $250 million in debt to go. Hmm, wonder how much Billabong could get for Dakine?
