PPR, Volcom’s parent company, has announced that Volcom will release a “closed-toe line” of shoes that will “not include technical shoes” according to a story on Just-Style.com.
The closed-toe line, which includes shoes for men and women featuring asymmetric lines and black and white contrasting outsoles, will be available in stores next July. . . PPR said the footwear range has been developed with Puma’s help and expertise.
So not technical, yet closed toed? Hmmm, wonder if they mean shoes like Gravis?
We were just thinking: we’re taking our retro, easy riding choppers out to the desert to sleep on the ground next to some cactus, shoot guns, listen to loud 60s music, and drink beer around a huge bonfire, but we have nothing to wear. Luckily, Brixton and Polerhave teamed up to produce the perfect T-shirt and hat for our strange trip.
The Summit (follow the jump) is a six-panel cap featuring pull down earflaps that tie in the front and a custom printed lining. . . the Pine (above), a premium fit tee featuring custom artwork that comes in three colors.
We’ve all seen his odd videos filled with strangely impossible often ugly yet occasionally amazing skateboarding tricks, but who has really stopped taken the time to let Todd Falcon tell his own story? Well, this week Michael Sieben interviews Falcon for Vice.com. And what he finds out is equally Falonesque.
Because I have been inventing since 1985 and kept a typed list of the tricks, I know it ends at 2,155, which is a zombie 360 varial to truck driver to Jokerflip 1/4 to primo to double flip to primo, 50-50. That was a ramp combo. (A zombie is a fakie tail stall to Falconplant.) . . . Not only do I have a typed list, but I have each and every trick on video and each session was dated starting from 1988 to present—the library of tapes is massive. I wanted to document each trick and the day it was landed.
And yes, there’s much more where this came from. Click the link and check it.

Airlines are hard on things—bags especially. Burton’s Wheelie Flight Deck is made to get your gear home and back in one piece. The well thought out, bulletproof airline approved carry-on rolls smooth thanks to Burton’s skate-style IXION wheels and features a removable laptop bag perfect for grabbing some last minute in-flight entertainment.
Available in six color ways including a True Black style, this bag should be in everyone’s travel quiver whether they’re taking their first trip or on their 50th cruise.
We’ve been rocking an older version of this bag for years, gone thousands of miles and it’s still rolling, but this year’s Bombay Block Party print (right) has thinking about an upgrade.
The Wheelie Flight Deck retails for $219.95. We recommend that you click to buy.
For the 2012-13 season Rome Snowboards will be filming and producing monthly films for each month of the year beginning with November.
For the next twelve months, we’ll create and release a monthly film about some aspect of snowboarding that we are into. Different spots. Different riders. Different fixations. It’s a format that gives us the freedom to do whatever we want. . . The different months of the year open unique opportunities for different types of snowboarding. Sometimes we’ll probably slow shit down for mellow good times; sometimes we’ll ramp shit up with hammers—whatever we feel like doing that month. Pros, ams, regional kids, homies and assorted riders in the SDS will come along for the ride. Basically, if it feels good, we’ll do it.
That’s a nice way to get the crew to create some month web content, huh? Follow the jump for the official word. [click to continue…]
