We were a little shocked when we first read that Mike Vallely was designing a line of clothing for the Anaheim Ducks hockey team. But then the more we thought about it, the more it all seemed to make sense.

4. Etnies GVR Photos
We shot photos at one skateboard event in the last six months and it rocketed right up to number four on the list. Maybe we should do that more often.

3. Skate Industry Getting The Boot
At the beginning of November the first round of layoffs in the action sports world reminded all of us that while we may pretend that we aren’t involved with suits and briefcases, this economy is slapping us all across the face.

2. Ray Underhill Dies After Long Brain Tumor Battle
When Ray Underhill died on August 1, 2008 after a valiant battle with cancer, he left behind a wife and two small children, but he also left a perfect example of what it means to be a good father, husband, and skateboarder. We will all miss him greatly.

1. Resorts Say No Burton Love
Vail Resorts told its employees they can’t ride naked Playboy bunnies to work and the Burton Love fiasco rolled right up to the top of our list.
