In the VIP room Wes Miller was playing smooth classic hits on his ukelele, Jesse Billhauer was rolling, Jim Kempton was signing copies of his book Surfing: The Manual: Advanced, while Randy Rarick and Spencer Croul were talking story. In the new Norwegian horror film Dead Snow (Dod Sno) a group of frozen undead Nazis awaken to feed on the brains of young snowboarders. Not exactly a healthy diet if you ask us.
The film opens on January 1, 2009 and is in Norwegian. We doubt their will be subtitles, but we still can’t wait to see it. Maybe Terje will translate for us.
There’s not a lot of obvious attitude here. . . . She does, however, have a depth, as her lyrics suggest, and she mused recently about her drifting friends and her hope for the future. “I’m kind of ready for the whole marriage and kids thing,” she said. Or at least, “something bigger than what it is now,” she added.
Men’s Fitness recently did a short interview with Shaun White asking probing questions like, “What are the most played songs on your iPod,” and “How do you mentally prepare for contests?” But the funniest part was the photo that ran with the story.
The guy has long red hair, skinny jeans, and Shaun’s Target collection t-shirt, but something just isn’t right. Guess that’s what happens when you let jocks do the photo editing.

In 2007 26 people got the virus and seven of them died. Crisp, who is on anti-biotics is still in the hospital and doctors don’t know how long he will remain there.

We’ve tried to think of all kinds of ways to monetize surf web cams, but there is nothing better than someone just handing over $1 million. Even if they are Australian dollars.
According to as story on Goldcoast.com.au, the Queensland Government’s Smart State Innovation Projects Fund has handed the money to Coastal Watch’s Chris Lane (pictured right) to help “keep beaches safe.”
Most of that will go to fund the technology which will allow Coastal Watch cameras to count the number of beach users at a particular break, measure wave height, and the shoreline position hourly. . . .It will also provide real-time pictures of beaches which allow lifesavers to monitor areas from their clubhouse. . . “It’s good to be able to help out surfers to find the best surf or boaties where the chop is,” said Mr Lane, “but it’s great to be able to help keep people safe when they go to the beach
Right. And it’s great to have another $1 million, right? Surfline. . . . you listening?
