Now hipster artists who love the random artiness that Lomography cameras produce can take those retro rigs underwater thanks to a collab between Rip Curland Lomography.
Using Japanese fish eye optics, the analogue camera built using rugged materials is definitely for the adventurous with its bright block colours the camera takes crystal clear shots with a 180° view whether you’re 1cm or a mile away. As well as a special multiple exposure switch allowing you to take unlimited shots on one frame making sure you don’t miss a thing. The Rip Curl Fish Eye can even take pictures underwater (with its specially designed waterproof casing) making it the definitive camera for holiday goers looking for an edgy, fun camera to let their imagination run wild.

The 2010 Amsterdam Am will be broadcasting live on the Internet Saturday and Sunday July 10 & 11, 2010 beginning at 4 AM PST on the Volcom Europe website. Waking up early and tuning in is a hell of a lot easier than attending live, but no where near as much fun.
Follow the jump for full event schedule and photos of the almost completely redone Skatepark of Amsterdam. It looks pretty amazing all empty and quiet. [click to continue…]
Dean Morrison was hit over the head with a bottle by a man he did not know in Coolangatta on Sunday night (July 4, 2010) while having a night out with friends at a Griffith Street Hotel, according to a story on Goldcoast.com.au. The Courier Mail reported it as The Sands Hotel.
Morrison could not be contacted yesterday but the Coolangatta surfer’s longtime mentor Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew confirmed the incident. . . Bartholomew last night said the recently married 29-year-old was shaken by the incident and lucky not to have been killed. . . “He had gone out in his home town to have a few beers with his mates, which you should be able to do,” said Bartholomew. . . “He was just sitting down and some guy came along and nailed him in the skull with a bottle. . . “It knocked him out and he hit the ground on his head. I think what saved him was the fact that he was sitting down.
Morrison was taken to the hospital with “a broken cheekbone and numerous facial gashes.” A 20-year-old man from Nunderi has been charged and will appear in court on July 26. We hope the Dingo recovers quickly and that the man is prosecuted to the full extent.
ESPN Action Sports has just announced the hiring of former Snowboarder Magazine “Sex In The Ski Town” columnist Melissa Larsen as their new snowboard editor, according to a post on ESPN/Action.
A recent New York transplant, Larsen brings with her nearly 15 years of editorial experience in snowboard media, as well as a terrain knowledge of Jackson Hole rivaled only by Travis Rice.
We’d talk some shit, but Melissa would undoubtedly kick our asses all the way down to Battery Park. So we’ll just leave it at “congratulations.”
Comic-Con fans are all atwitter lately with news that surfer Erica Hosseini was auditioning for the part of Willow in the next X-Men movie. A week ago on Twitter Erica said: “Just got a call to audition for a new mutant character in the next X-MEN movie! This should be interesting…” and now blogs like Straight 2 DVD are interviewing her.
It would be cool to break into the film industry, but I’m not going on auditions and trying for a career change. If the opportunity comes I will without a doubt accept it…. but it has to be the right fit. My dream movie would probably be some super hero action film, with a crazy costume. That just sounds really fun! I love stunts, so i would want lots of action 🙂
We’ve never seen an X-Men film, but if they put Erica in we’ll check the next one out for sure.
Anyone thinking about finally going out for a SUP session may think two or three more times after seeing Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne’s July 4 outing. . . Apparently, the paparazzi who shot this photo escaped Malibu without getting punched.
This is one of the few times we actually feel sorry for the security guard. After this video going out to the world he was suspended from his job and hasn’t had steady work since, but we can’t help but laugh as he blasts his golf cart straight into a wall.

It is true that Don doesn’t go out much and spends that vast majority of his time hunched over his desk working on something for a client or his own insanely detailed pieces. Over the years his work has become smaller, not in scale but in the finite spaces within each painting. It has become sharper, that’s not to say he has been sloppy; quite the contrary. It is the over all look of his more recent imagery. This mural typifying this new phase of his career. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
