The Term Facility is subject to interim amortization of $1,500,000, payable on June 30 and December 31 of each year, beginning on June 30, 2011, until the principal balance under the Term Facility is reduced to $14 million. One thing is certain: Joe Scirocco earns his paycheck.
Weezy appears to be doing his part for the action sports economy with few references dropped in his song Bill Gatesfrom theI Am Not A Human Being album.
Vans, Tony Hawk, and Shaun White all get props. Here are just a few select rhymes from different verses:
“Skinny ass pants, Fresh pair of Vans, If you n-ggas keep trippin’ n-gga share an ambulance”
“All day I do it, I do it like Tony, Got a sign on my dick that say “bad bitches only””
“Dress like a skater, ride on you like Shaun White, I’m high all day, you can call that shit a long flight”
Gold Coast surfer Robert Marino (pictured right) describes how he survived the burning wreck of the MV Midas after the tsunami rammed another surf charter boat into it by wriggling out a port hole, according to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Mr Marino had squirmed his way through a tiny porthole, barely large enough for a man’s head to peek through, but surely not wide enough to accommodate Mr Marino’s wide frame. . . ”I had opened it first, but realised there was no way to get through it, so I went through the door,” Mr Finucan said. ”How he did it, I don’t know.”
Definitely a miracle. Hopefully, we’ll hear about more miracles from the Mentawis in the next few days.
The D’Bora surf charter stationed off the southern end of Pagai island, the area closest to the epicenter, has been sending back reports of the damage. Last Mile Operations has used that information to put together buckets complete with fishing hooks, sarongs, blankets, tarps, rope, and small shovels. . . “Anything that can get them under shelter and give them the ability to be clean and give them the opportunity to gather their own food from the jungle and the sea,” says George. . . The response has been rapid, he explains, because those on the ground know what to anticipate from these kinds of disasters. George, who also assisted aid efforts during the 2004 tsunami that devastated the Indian Ocean region, says the surf charter business has a lot of experience working with relief organizations. . . “The surfers here are being called up on the most because we know the islands like the back of our hands; we know the villages, we know the waters, we’re qualified captains and know how to navigate the reefs,” he says.
At 1:30 PM PST tomorrow (Thursday October 28, 2010) Volcomwill discuss its quarter three financial results with analysts. The great part is that we all can listen online at Volcom Investor Relations.
For those who are unable to listen to the live broadcast, the call will be archived for one year on the Volcom Web site. A telephone playback of the conference call will also be available until 11:59 p.m. ET, Friday, November 5, 2010. Listeners should call (800) 642-1687 (domestic) or (706) 645-9291 (international) and use reservation: 15128955.
Hopefully, Volcom has fixed their web audio so even us heathens on Apple computers can listen in as well. [click to continue…]
Not really sure why a snowboarder who is most accustom to racing down a fence-lined course would need a two-piece GPS unit with satellite texting capabilities, but that hasn’t stopped snowboardrcross double gold medalist Seth Wescott from stepping up as the new face of the Earthmate PN-60w with SPOT Satellite Communicator from DeLorme.
Among the plans for Wescott include his appearance as part of Team DeLorme at the upcoming 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, where he will discuss the many benefits of leading a healthy and active lifestyle and share his experiences as an outdoors enthusiast who uses a variety of technology. Wescott will also appear in a new DeLorme print advertising campaign scheduled for early 2011.
If you get any strange text messages from Seth this winter you’ll know why. Follow the jump for the complete details. [click to continue…]
We haven’t heard from former pro snowboarder (and “core sport marketing consultant”) Kris Jamieson for years and then out of nowhere he appears pitching the “newest innovation for your iPhone.” It’s called the Audioglove from Fadigear.
It’s an advanced case that actually increases your iPhone’s volume by 12 decibels (that’s a lot!). Get your order in now and we’ll ship you the first edition Audioglove with the JustUs logo.
The company reportedly has new Audioglove designs coming from Sage Bolyard, Cara-Beth Burnside, Kim Peterson, Dave Duncan and 10 designs from Pearl Jam. Yeah, guess all the elderly skaters need a little more volume and it’s much easier to carry around than this.
Anastasia Ashley allowed MTV’s Andrew Jenks to follow her around the US Open of Surfing last summer for an episode of World of Jenks. We don’t really understand why Mr. Jenks has a show, but Anastasia rocked it out in this episode. If you don’t want to sit through the entire episode here are a couple of our favorite Ms. Ashley quotes:
A lot of girls who surf don’t like me. I feel like there is a lot of jealousy.
I would say I’m not really friends with a lot of the other girls. There is a lot of cattiness that a lot of people don’t see.
I do whatever the fuck I want. I don’t like labels. I’m just doing what I want to do and you can love it or hate it.
You want to say something, “Say it to my face.” I’ll go over and say “Say that to my mother-fucking face.”
A lot of girls at contests are such fake bitches.
At the end of the day you’re going to have haters if you’re doing something people care about.
I’m definitely not missing a sensitivity chip
But it’s not all rough and tough. Just watch it. You’ll like her more than you did before. Trust us.
Recycled skateboard jewelry maker MapleXO by Lindsay Holmes has a limited run of 50 iphone 4 cases made from recycled skateboards, according to a post on Skate & Annoy.

“I have to get out of here,” Heald said he immediately thought. . . Heald guessed the fin was from a 5- to 6-foot blacktip shark. The blacktip is probably to blame for most reported human attacks in Florida, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, but never a fatality. . . The fin disappeared below the surface, and Heald figured it was his chance to try to catch a wave in. Then it hit him, hard. . . “I heard a big splash, and it felt like I was being tackled,” he said.
Heald, unlike California’s Lucas Ransom, survived with a few stitches and is already back in the water.
