At last year’s SIA Trade Show in Denver one of the hottest tickets was the 686 Lights Out boxing matches between industry heavy weights. Anyone who thought these matches would be “staged” was in for a big surprise when everyone beat themselves silly (check last year’s event here).
For 2013 686 is doing it all again. Same place, same night, same staff. Danny Kass will referee and Dingo will be the ring announcers. All the proceeds from the event go to SOS Outreach.
It’s official. Pat Moore is now representing the VeeCo brand all around: outerwear, snowboards, and accessories.

Black Flag songwriter and SST Records founder Greg Ginn has reportedly teamed up with Mike Vallely on a new band called Good for You, according to a post on Punknews.org.
The band, dubbed Good for You, recorded their debut at Ginn’s Casa Destroy Studios in Taylor, TX. It’s called Life is Too Short to Not Hold a Grudge and is due out February 26, 2013 via SST Records. The two first collaborated when Mike performed the entirety of My War for shows with a band featuring Ginn, Dez Cadena, Dale Nixon and Ducket.

After that eye-socket shattering injury during trampoline training last summer, Olympic silver medalist snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, 31, talks about her return to snowboarding, the X Games, the upcoming Olympics, and what it all means with the Associated Press.
Now, after surgery to repair the eye socket, dealing with double vision and headaches so severe she felt like she was constantly in a wave pool, Bleiler has a different take: There’s no way she could ever give up snowboarding. . . And, of course, that’s the competitor talking. . . “It was a terrible experience,” said the 31-year-old Bleiler, who’s from Aspen, Colo. “Now that I’m back, I have a new perspective. I’m just letting myself have fun, let everything come back when it comes back. That’s where I’m at mentally with everything.”
She hasn’t competed since here injury, but according to the story she may compete in the Winter X Games this month for a shot at her fifth gold medal. We hope she rides safe and wish her the best.
