This is a documentary about homosexuality and surfing that examines why people think there aren’t any gay surfers – and to show them the power, diversity and energy of our group of global gay surfers! It is the story of all of us who seek acceptance, happiness and some really good waves.
The producers of the film are “actively looking for sponsors and funding” to complete the film. While we’re guessing the mainstream surf industry isn’t going to dive in on this opportunity, maybe someone will surprise us all.

Former shred photographer Thomas Stöeckli a.k.a. “Creager” talks photography, snowboarding photography, and where his photography is going now that he’s not shooting the shred any longer with The Morning News co-founder Roscrans Baldwin.
I had a very good decade of capturing some of the world’s best riders and chasing the snow around the globe. It offered me so much, snowboarding in general, I still cannot believe where it brought me to today. It is still my favorite thing to do in my spare time. But snowboard photography is only a little piece of the whole cake. I was always hungry for more. Plus, I could not imagine myself being a 40-year-old dude traveling all year with 16-year-olds.

This week the Tribeca Film Festival will be screening a Street League Skateboardingpromotional advertisement documentary by Adam Bhala Lough titled The Motivation. We do so love the age of advertorial, especially when it comes to documentary filmmaking. Oh, and as you might imagine The Motivation looks to be very good as well. That’s called synergy. The Motivation premieres Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 9:30 PM EST.

It’s directed by Sam George and produced by Stacy Peralta, Paul Taublieb, Agi Orsi, and Dan Silver so it’s probably good, too.
If the Paul Naude driven Sycamore Partners deal for Billabong goes through company founder Gordon Merchant would lose about $960 million in value, according to a story on Goldcoast.com.au.
At the company’s peak in 2007, his shareholding was worth close to $1 billion but, based on the 60 a share offer, he will have $960 million wiped from his 15 per cent stake, now worth about $40 million. . . The deal may save the beleaguered retailer from annihilation but it’s a massive plunge from the $4 billion the company was once worth in 2007, when its shares touched $18.51. . . It will now be up to shareholders to decide whether they want to end their years of takeover fatigue, accept the offer and get out while they can.

After accidentally stumbling on to the ridiculous ABC Television “diving with the stars” reality contest show Splash and not getting it, we thought it even odder that Tony Hawk would make a five second guest appearance on the show ollieing off the show’s high dive to the cheers of a live crowd shouting: “Tony. Tony. Tony.”
Those who spent any time at Mr. Hawk’s Fallbrook facility will remember hours spent jump ramping into the pool on hot days, so this is really nothing new.
But we were left wondering: Is this the kind of compelling action sports content we can expect from TMZ Action Sports?
A 21-year-old surfer from DeBary, Florida wins the honor of New Smyrna’s first shark bite of the season, according to a story in the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
The surfer, whose name was not available, was bitten about 1:30 p.m. Saturday as he caught waves off New Smyrna Beach near the south jetty, Marris said.
According to the International Shark Attach File Florida’s Volusia and Brevard counties share the 2012 record for shark bites with eight each in 2012. Yay, Florida.
