The Nixon TPS mobile speaker system just won a “red dot” from Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and organization that has been handing out high-fives for good design since 1955.

The idea of what later came to be known as The TPS was first inspired by a roundtable meeting held in Tavarua, Fiji in 2009 with Nixon pro-athletes and team riders Bruce Irons, Tony Hawk and others. The TPS is the result of a collaborative working relationship with Nixon’s team of world-class athletes and further illustrates Nixon’s approach to products that are “Team-Designed, Custom-Built”.
The TPS will be displayed along the more than 1,500 winning products featured at Germany’s red dot design museum. The red dot design museum accommodates the world’s largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design. Beginning this summer from July 3-29, 2012, the red dot design museum will hold its annual exhibition of the award-winning products. At “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2012” design, enthusiasts can admire the latest winners at close range.
