New York Times technology writer Conor Dougherty hung out with Greg and Jill Henderson, creators of the Hendo Hoverboard. It’s not exactly ready for the Street League, but it does hover and it is a board.
It hovers about an inch above the ground. But when the 190-pound visitor stood atop the 100-pound board, one gentle push was enough to send him spinning across the room over a cushion of air.
Nice to see that is possible. Now, we’ll have to wait until they figure out how to make them turn.

Seems some skateboard shops will try anything to move product. Recently several Denver skaters have accused 365skateboards.com of offering up sponsorship in exchange for the purchase of a board. When people don’t get the board they ordered their names and personal information was put up on 365skate’s Wall of Shame. The Wall of Shame has been taken down, but the site still appears to be live. Watch the edit for the rest of the story.

Desillusion Magazine’s Pierre David proves once again that he can take any crisp, bright, blue sky day and turn it into the darkest, moodiest, blurriest creepy edit ever with his profile of Vacaville, California’s own Stefan Janoski. If you’re not feeling up enough to wallow in its arty darkness, then please, at least listen to it because Stefan has loads of knowledge to share.

We’re not normally all that into watching downhill skateboarding videos. And we started this one with some skepticism. We sat through the clips of the ghost town and were about to turn it off when we saw James Kelly begin bombing down the Pass and then it got crazy. Arbor Skateboard’s James Kelly man handled the whole thing. Watch and cringe.

Last week The Hundreds‘ Mac Sandefur interviewed Dave Bergthold about his new Skate Crate project. As many know, Dave B is never one to boast about how deep his roots in skateboarding go, or how many of today’s skateboard industry leaders got their start working, or skating for him. That’s why it’s nice to see The Hundreds get in and ask the questions, shoot the photos, and get it done so the rest of the world can hear the story straight from Bergthold’s mouth — not only the history of Blockhead, but also the genesis for the now funded Skate Crate kickstarter project. Click the link and check it.
