Justin Bieber Backing Brixton

by The Editors on December 2, 2013

Brixton BieberJustin Bieber was caught rolling Sydney, Australia’s Waterloo skatepark by the Daily Mail this week and he was sporting his new favorite hat company’s logo: Brixton.

While we’re quite certain the teen sensation is not on the Brixton flow team, there is nothing that turns the numbers like a little free promo on one of the world’s most talked about people. And right during the Christmas rush no less. Doesn’t seem like you could plan for anything this good.

For more photos of the Biebs on his skateboard (and Brixton MFG Co hat), click the link. Or follow the jump for a little video. And for the record, he’s got way more pop than lil’ Wayne.

Out In The Lineup Needs A Little Help

by The Editors on December 2, 2013

The producers of Out In The Lineup, a documentary film on surfers who are gay, are raising money to complete their project on Kickstarter. They’re hoping to raise AUS$30,000 and with 11 days left they need only AUS$3,000 more to get it done.

OUT in the line-up is a feature documentary about two gay surfers, David and Thomas, who set off on a global journey to uncover the taboo of homosexuality in surfing. They travel from Australia to Hawaii, California, Mexico and the Galapagos Islands to speak with people from all corners of the surfing community, from former world champions through to everyday surfers. Stories of fear, isolation and self-doubt emerge alongside ones of hope, self-empowerment and transformation. As their journey unfolds, Thomas and David are inspired to promote change within the existing culture by looking to surfing’s grassroots values of freedom of spirit, open-mindedness and love for the ocean.

Z-Flex The Original: Fiberglass Days

by The Editors on November 27, 2013

In episode two of Jon Holland’s Z-Flex historical series The Original we get to look back at the very beginning.

Hand crafted by Kent Sherwood in 1976, Kent’s mission was to make a board that could keep up with the intense skating of his step-son, Jay Adams. As Aaron Scott puts it, “with Kent’s background in fiberglass, they were hoping this would actually last Jay Adams’ skating”. Kent worked tirelessly on perfecting a board that would pioneer an industry to come.

Watch and learn.
