Ah, fall. The time of year when we suit up, watch the leaves change color, and dream of Miss Reef 2015. . . Well, okay. Not the last one. But since Stabmag.com pointed it out, we couldn’t help but post it up as well (with as SEO friendly a headline as we could get). This definitely puts the “ass” in Just Passing Through.
Now, we’ll just sit back and see if this knocks Reef’s Over-Touched Assets off the top of our “most visited stories” list.

If you’d thought about traveling to New Zealand and haven’t, this edit of Mateia Hiquily getting all over NZ will make you put NZ on your bucket list immediately. It’s better than all that footage from Lord Of The Rings. For real.

Forest Bailey shows us all how great a snowboarder he is right up front with a nice little “skateboarding-in-a-park” section. No shame in that game. But then things really get going once he straps in. And while there were occasional hints at ocean going, Forest never once rode a real wave. Just watch and see. The only unfortunate bit is that darned colored cow on his snowboard. He needs to put that thing out to pasture before it takes over his life.

It’s been a long while since we checked in with Gary Rogers and Skateline. So, here you go. Seems like Gary has been keeping on keeping on all this time. Still funny. Still on point. Still doing it. Guess he’s not bored just yet.

TED talks are a lot like the food served in high school cafeterias: it looks interesting at first, but after a while it all begins taste the same. It could be someone talking about teaching crows to buy food, or how skateboarding can build an adult man, but the pacing, verbal styling, and Powerpoints make it look and sound the same.
In this TEDx Orange Coast, Element founder Johnny Schillereff attempts to explains his views on leadership through innocent passion. It definitely doesn’t taste the same as all the other TED talks. In fact, we’re still trying to figure out what the hell Johnny was talking about with his “no tipping points” and “upside down tipping points.” And what about the drum thing? If you know, please share the info.

We posted this Salomon Snowboards edit for one reason: the sound track. Sure it features the shred stylings of Jed Anderson, Louif Paradis, Chris Grenier, Harrison Gordon, Nils Mindnich, Kohei Kudou, Teddy Koo, and Chris Carr, but most importantly it kicks off with a “>Devo song. Yes, it’s that easy to own us.

It’s basically Torstein Horgmo, Andreas Wiig, Craig McMorris, Anto Chamberland, Stale Sandbech, and friends doing what they do on the snow stuff. Made us smile. Probably you, too. Oh, and if you want to watch the entire movie it’s up on Vimeo On Demand right now. Click here if you want to buy it. It will cost you $12.99.

New York Times technology writer Conor Dougherty hung out with Greg and Jill Henderson, creators of the Hendo Hoverboard. It’s not exactly ready for the Street League, but it does hover and it is a board.
It hovers about an inch above the ground. But when the 190-pound visitor stood atop the 100-pound board, one gentle push was enough to send him spinning across the room over a cushion of air.
Nice to see that is possible. Now, we’ll have to wait until they figure out how to make them turn.

Finally, a surf watch that actually does something. If the Rip Curl Search GPS watch works as well as this edit suggests, this could be the best surf watch ever (even if it is a little bulky). We’re hoping to get a review unit in the near future. We’ll let you know.

There’s really nothing we can offer up here about getting first chairs that Nate Dogggg doesn’t cover in his sage words preceding his 19th consecutive first chair at Colorado’s A Basin. So just get out your Rubik’s Cube, watch, and learn.
