Oli Gagnon’s Hoopsnake Video Premiere

by The Editors on December 3, 2014

We’re always interested in people’s side project (wonder why?). And snow photographer Oli Gagnon has a great one–drumming in the “doom metal” band Hoopsnake. This is their first music video titled Curse of the White Widow. It has all the key elements: heavy bass, banging drums, strangulation, decapitation, masturbation, amputation, cannibalism, and a zombie. But we don’t want to ruin it for you. Just watch it. For an interview with Gagnon click the link.

Arbor Skateboard + Caliber Trucks = Grade

by The Editors on December 1, 2014

For years we’ve been trying to figure out downhill skateboarding, and now, thanks to Arbor Skateboards’ and Caliber Trucks’ new full-length film Grade it’s beginning to make much more sense. Or, in all honest, less sense, as in these guys will scare you senseless with their non-stop hill bombing.

Tag along with James Kelly, Liam Morgan, Tyler Howell, Brandon Tissen, and Jordan Riachi as they travel to some of the most critical and challenging roads in the world. GRADE was filmed on location in Mexico, Hawaii, Northern Sierras, Laguna Beach, Australia, and Switzerland.

Sheesh. The whole film is here, watch it.

The Sell Out In Song Form

by The Editors on December 1, 2014

Something about this hilarious ditty from The Moopets reminds us of what over-commercialization has done to many players in the industry. And we just can’t get it out of our heads. You’re welcome.

Danny Davis’ Peace Park To Air On ABC TV

by The Editors on November 21, 2014

Danny Davis’ 44-minute snowboarding film Peace Park will be airing on ABC on Sunday November 30, 2014 at 11 AM PST.

“Peace Park is all about bringing the soul back into snowboarding,” comments Davis. “I’m really stoked that my sponsors believe in me and continue to support my vision of keeping snowboarding fun and creative. This year’s Peace Park is different than any other, offering something for every style of snowboarder to ride. We had riders from all around the world show up!”

After the NBC premiere you’ll be able to watch the whole thing again on the Youtube channel of a certain mouse dissolving (but soon no longer flame retarding) caffeinated, carbonated, high fructose corn syrup product marketed as a drink. But please, don’t put that stuff in your body no matter how cool Mr. Davis makes it look.

Riley Hawk’s Brand New Retro Ride

by The Editors on November 7, 2014

Scion has created a new touring vehicle (party van) for Riley Hawk. It’s got a load of retro flavor including a working 8-Track stereo and full shag carpet and looks to be a one-of-a-kind xB for certain, according to a story on Carbuzz.com. Kind of makes us want to blast a little Nebula just to get in the mood.

An Air Rotation Primer For Surfers

by The Editors on November 7, 2014

Every since Kelly Slater busted out his frontside 720 in France last month it has become obvious that although skateboarders and snowboarders had figured out air rotation nomenclature years ago, some of the brightest minds in surfing were still having trouble sorting it all out.
