It’s Winter In Australia Apparently

by The Editors on July 7, 2010

This is what Australia’s Perisher Park looks like right now with Jye Kearney getting all over it. Kind of reminds us of spring at Northstar.

Community College Security vs. Skateboarders

by The Editors on July 6, 2010

This is one of the few times we actually feel sorry for the security guard. After this video going out to the world he was suspended from his job and hasn’t had steady work since, but we can’t help but laugh as he blasts his golf cart straight into a wall.

For more on the story from Community College of Allegheny County and a few words from the guard click the link.

California Skateparks owner Joe Ciaglia nearly gets run over by his own “world’s largest skateboard” while dorking around with it at Woodward. . .

Andy Irons Dips His Nose In Powder

by The Editors on June 30, 2010

Snowboarders Kevin Jones and Travis Rice get to feel superior to Andy Irons for a day of powder at Targhee Cat Ski and some park riding at Jackson Hole. We doubt they’ll return the favor by paddling out at Teahupoo any time soon.

Billabong Ante Up In TTRvision

by The Editors on June 27, 2010

Billabong’s Ante Up went down yesterday (June 26, 2010) on the glacier at Blackcomb while the US team was getting whooped in South Africa by Ghana.

Apparently the top three results looked something like this:

  1. Sebastien Toutant (CAN)
  2. Matts Kulisek (CAN)
  3. Mark McMorris (CAN)

Wonder when the Billabong Canada snow dudes are going to update their “official site” with the full results or anything else suggesting the event even happened? For NuuLife Cinema’s version click here via TWS.

Volcom & Thrasher Burn Some Witch

by The Editors on June 25, 2010

There’s really nothing else to say about the Burning of the Witch contest in Denmark:

No permit, no police, no problem. Just days before the Copenhagen Pro contest, Volcom and Thrasher teamed up for a Best Trick contest on the beach in Copenhagen, Denmark in honor of the age-old Danish tradition of The Burning of the Witch.”

Remember The ASP Elite World Tour?

by The Editors on June 23, 2010

J Bay.Freddy P. tweeted something the other day that reminded us that while we may have completely forgotten about it for the past for weeks, there is an ASP World Tour going on.

Time off is good, but this much time off is dangerous. Haven’t surfed a heat in ages. Fighters get ring rust. What do surfers get? Freddy said on Monday.

But how long has it been? The last contest (The Santa Catarina Pro) ended on April 29, 2010. The Billabong Pro at J-Bay doesn’t begin until July 15, 2010. That’s 77 days. The ASP really needs to learn something about momentum. We don’t even remember who won the first few contests or who is in the lead. . . It’s Kelly, right?

Red Bull Sexes Up The Surf Girls

by The Editors on June 23, 2010

These surf girls clean up pretty well. Amazing what a little paint can do. Though we have to say we prefer them Survivor style.
