The Bethany Hamilton bio-pic Soul Surfer doesn’t hit theaters until April 8, 2011, but until then here is a little clip the fictional Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb) and Alana Blanchard (Lorraine Nicholson) try to finagle a little late night surf session out of Bethany’s mom.

Don’t know how we missed this one before, but sometime last summer Queensland, Australia based FiiK Electric Skateboards hooked up the competitive side of the Wright family (Owen and Tyler) along with Bede Durbidge to do charge it with some extreme electric off-road skateboarding.

In their Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast final match up Kelly Slater and Taj Burrow surfed a total of 23 waves. Seven of those waves scored a 3.0 or above. Five of those that did were Kelly’s, and two were Taj’s. Kelly’s high score was a 5.93 and Taj’s was a 7.17. That’s the kind of heat it was. To look at all the scores more closely click here.
We’ve been wondering how Danny Davis’ recovery has been going since some reportedly late night sledding landed him in a Salt Lake City hospital in January of 2010. From the looks of this, he’s right back on track.
Alana Blanchard turned 21 yesterday and apparently Laura Enever, Coco Ho, and the girls did a little warm up. And we thought they tore it up in the waves. . .
