Cody Hudson x Jared Eberhardt = Art Video

Artists Cody Hudson and Jared Eberhardt have a video art clip that is featured in the Scion Installation 7 art show. Here they talk about how the piece came about and what it means, or doesn’t mean.

Apparently, after viewing the amazing art featured in the show you’ll feel an undeniable urge to purchase a small, boxy, micromobile from Toyota. Or, at least their marketing people hope you will. Don’t let that stop you from check out The Scion Installation 7.

The show opens at Co Exhibitions in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 4, 2011 with a big reception. (Yes, it’s the place where Aaron Draplin showed last fall).

The Ed Templeton Is Not Worried Interview

We’ll pretty much listen to Ed Templeton talk about anything, but when he’s talking about skateboarding and art, then that’s required viewing. According to Skatedaily.net, this is an interview done by Wunderbaum Magazine in anticipation of his latest art show My soul is worried but not me.

The show runs at the Nils Staerk Gallery (in Copenhagen) until June 25, 2011.

Brittain’s Vault Episode One: The Gonz

For fans of skateboarding, and skateboarding photography in specific there’s not much better that sitting in an old vinyl chair and listening to photographer Grant Brittain tell stories of back in the day. Grant’s stories have always been epic and in this new series Brittain’s Vault skate photog Ed Dominick plans to capture Grant in his classic best. This is episode one, we’re kind of hoping the next episode is a little bit longer, because this one was definitely, too short.

A Few More Reasons To Don’t Do It

Society is tough on the aging, white, American male. We’re not sure how this “52-fuckin’-year-old” Reno man ended up with the job of keeping snowboarders off the rails in this park, but if we were guessing we’d say it was a horrible string of divorces, bankruptcies, and years of substance abuse. Just watch and you’ll see what we mean.

Nyjah Huston Takes $165,000 In Seattle

Nyjah Huston slipped past Shane O’Neil and Chaz Ortiz to win the first stop of the 2011 Street League DC Pro Tour in Seattle, Washington on Sunday, May 8, 2011, and take home $165,000 in prize money.

Perhaps the most memorable moment was on Huston’s last attempt, when he landed a backside 270 nose bluntslide on the big section rail for the highest scoring trick of Street League to-date and ending the event as the crowd roared. With that trick, Huston also took home the Monster Energy Best Trick Award worth another $15,000.
