Here’s a new 17 seconds of shoe commercial from Lakai. It’s funny.
Featuring Raven Tershy, shot and edited by Aaron Meza with assistance from Ty Evans. Special thanks to Johannes Gamble, Logan Lara and Angelo for helping make it happen.
Is it right foot goofy, left foot regular or does it even matter? Will figure it out at Agenda.
A company called Aris Sporthas apparently completely redesigned skateboarding using alien technology. The new board is not surprisingly called the Blade Runner and it is described as a “alien vehicle.” We can be certain of two alien elements to their business: their profits will be invisible and their losses will be out of this world. But we doubt this will dampen their spirits much.
The story behind one of the coolest ways to get from Portland, Oregon (or Seattle, Washington) to the snow–the Greasebus. Almost makes us want to go ride Mt. Hood Meadows, just for the ride to the hill.
The completely raw, blow-by-blow video clips collected by Simon Saffigna during the huge swell that hit Teahupoo on August 27, 2011 show more than anything else we’ve seen how straight up gnarly that day was and is probably the reason Tehupoo Uncut won a Surfer magazine video award. The DVD is now available of pre-order at Subnoizestore for $14.99 and will be released on February 14, 2012.
Video footage from the continuing Salomon/Bonfire RV tour as it moves closer to New England’s dreaming. Up next January 7 at Waterville Valley and January 8 at Loon Mountain, New Hampshire. [click to continue…]
Snowboarder Mark Carter’s Old West swagger comes to him the hard way: by living it day by day in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. As his new video project The Carter Country shows he snowboards in the winter, ranches in the summer, and does some fishing and hunting on the side.
Seriously, no reason to keep docking around with all those Canon DSLR toys when with a little over $11,000 you can get a 4K Red Scarlet X. Better get one now. It’s what all the trustafari will be shooting with this season, and better yet, it will work with all your lenses. Click here for part two.
In a clip that not surprisingly kicks off with a dreamy, drippingly pornographic shot of a helicopter lifting off and features extended moist rolling landscapes shot from a glittering helicopter, Quiksilver drops into “the office” with helicopter fan Travis Rice. He has very little to say other than to mention this about style:
Style is a tough thing to describe. It would be an easy thing try to do or pursue. It’s a lot more than a trick or a turn or a poke. So much of my style has everything to do with what goes on prior to that moment.
The message boards have been packed with this news for months, but yesterday (January 2, 2012) DC Shoes officially announced that they had made two “massive additions” to their skate program with Mike Mo Capaldi (formerly of Lakai) and Nyjah Huston (footwear free agent).
As usual, this announcement was followed by a flurry of comments from industry insiders and skate kids who don’t believe the publicly traded Quiksilver has skateboarding’s best interest in mind when it signs up major players.
One long-time skate industry head said:
Again skateboarders have sold themselves to a corporate giant who doesn’t care about skateboarding, just money. Happy 4 the skaters, though.
Another fired back:
. . . as long as that company funds skateparks, pays skaters well, makes cool videos and puts on cool events I’m backin’ it.
The first replied:
I know. Getting harder to hate buying credibility. I know it’s not rational but stills feel weird. Happy for skaters though.
Before getting all emotionally involved just remember: skateboarding and skateboarders are just the little donkeys who help drag the footwear marketing machine to the masses.
