Oahu, Hawaii fishermen Addison Toki and Dominick Gaballo had just pulled in a 300 pound Marlin about five miles outside Yokohama Bay on Oahu’s west side when they noticed a fin beginning to circle their boat, according to a story on KITV.com.
“As it got closer and saw just the size and features, we knew it was a Great White,” said Gaballo. . . 18 years ago, Toki says he saw a Great White Shark on the North Shore, but that it doesn’t compare to this recent encounter. He estimates the shark was about 15 feet long. . . “I see all types of sharks but when you see one like that it’s like wow. I’m blown away,” said Toki.
The shark reportedly circle the board for about a hour and several times came up to nibble on the boats prop. At one point the videographer says: “If I wasn’t tired I jump on the buggers back. Maybe next time.” As the blog Board as Fuck said, “Best commentary ever.”

From now until the end of January snowboarders with a season pass to any resort in California can show it at a Mountain High ticket window and get a lift ticket for only $25. Anytime. Sounds like one more reason for SoCal snowboards to say home the next few weeks and brush up on their acting. . .

We were going to type up a bunch of words about how great he is in the steeps, or all the lines he’s pioneered, or some of the crazy stories he’s told us over the years, but the truth is, Tom Burt is the raddest snowboarder ever. There we said it. Watch this episode of Power & Rails and and you’ll begin to get a better idea of what we’re talking about. Or, follow the jump and watch episode number two. [click to continue…]

On January 17, 2012 Goggle/Youtube’s latest attempt at channeling quality content to high paying advertisers will launch across the web.
In the action space we have The Ride Channel from Tony Hawk Inc. (above), Network A, a joint venture between Wasserman Media Group and a company called Bedrocket, and then there is The Red Bull Channel which will likely feature a collection of all those “wild, crazy, unbelievable” videos your grandparents are constantly forwarding to you from Red Bull Media House.
Each channel was reportedly given $1 million against a share of future advertising earnings. Not exactly bubble money, but not that bad either. Without going to deeply into the logic right now, we’ll just say that we’re not exactly bullish on the whole old-media “network channel” concept. We are, however, looking forward to The Weekend Buzz featuring Rob Brink and Erica Yary. It will be on The Ride Channel and it looks good.

As Tony Hawk has taught us all, there is no way to be a action sporting super hero without having a video game or at least a good part in a video game. This new clip from Electronic Arts SSX would suggest that Travis Rice has been paying attention. The new SSX drops February 28, 2011.

The girls of Peep Show have put together a reel of slams from their last couple films and according to Yobeat.com‘s Nick Lipton watching it will cause you to make some pretty messed up faces. Ouch. We did learn one thing however–it’s not like these girls aren’t trying.
