Shaun White’s New Ride

by The Editors on February 12, 2008

Shaun-Whites-Lambo

Robust Flavor spy cam operators grabbed some shots of Shaun White’s new ride. It’s a Lamborghini Murcielago and here are the it’s stats:

It sports a 6.2 Liter version of the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, a six-speed manual or six-speed sequential automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive. It also has a rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, side mirrors that fold in to improve aerodynamics, and side scoops that automatically open to the needed size to let in just the right amount of air needed to cool its engine.

Kinda reminds us of something our favorite former NFL playing rap artist F-a-m to the o-u-z said: “just look at me now, I’m gettin’ it . . . on the Lambdy Lambo, as many bad bitches as a nigga can handle. . . ”

Tony Hawk on TMZ

by The Editors on February 10, 2008

Hawk-Vs-Stork

We’re glad Skate and Annoy is all over this Tony Hawk celebrity spotting stuff, otherwise we’d miss it completely. We especially like their comment “expecting his fourth child from his third wife.” We know what they meant.

Anyone Else Over “The Dingo?”

by The Editors on February 6, 2008

Riders-Poll-02 L

We guess all sports need a mascot, but it seems like The Dingo would get tired of being the mainstream media’s cartoon character idea of “what snowboarding is all about, right there.” Don’t get us wrong: he’s a great guy. Nice, cool, friendly, we’d never say anything bad about him, just let us know if you’re, you know, a little over the whole “Dingo” schtick.

Bleiler Knocks Off The Nudies

by The Editors on February 6, 2008

2669584Apparently, all those scantily clad images of Gretchen Bleiler from FHM and ESPN are a thing of the past as the high queen of the u-jump decides to stop listening to those people who kept trying to get her to sell her sex.

These days, Bleiler wants to show substance beyond skin, and the shift in attitude is the first signal that she has begun to transcend the sport.

“I feel like in the past I felt pressured to bring exposure to myself as well as my sport. I had those opportunities and maybe didn’t have the best advice and went along with it and never really felt like it was ‘me,’ ” she said. “But now I’ve come so far and am so much more confident in who I am and the path I need to follow, and I won’t be a part of those types of opportunities anymore.

“It’s cool, though. It shows that I have come a long way. It’s too bad that when you are a woman in sports that those are the opportunities you get, to show your skin. But it’s a fact of life, and I’ve learned about it along the way. It won’t happen again.”

Exactly. Thanks for taking the high road, Gretchen. Maybe some of the other girls will follow your lead.

BME Click Get Ill On Actions Sports

by The Editors on January 31, 2008

53Yeah, this is the guy we all want to hang out with right? Lil Jon. Okay, we don’t, but we are obviously in the minority (once again). Greg Lutzka, Ryan Shecler, Danny Kass, The Dingo, and Travis Mellem are all down with BME Click, according to Hip Hop Elements. We’ll let Mr. Kass explain it:

“When Lil Jon wanted to get into action sports he wanted to pull the illest crew together, and it is an honor to be picked by that man.” Sheckler also adds, “Action sports is taking over, and BME is a part of it. Keep your eyes open and get ready!”

The illest indeed.

Hawk Dissed On Celebrity Soccer Field

by The Editors on January 31, 2008

Apparently, Tony Hawk was playing a celebrity soccer match at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California when Paul Caliguri (some kind of US soccer hero, if that’s even possible) talked some smack about the birdman’s soccer abilities.

“I was pretty stoked to play with Tony Hawk,” Caliguri said. “I was trying to feed him the ball so he could score, but maybe he needed a skateboard to do that.”

Nice, Paul.

Shaun White In the Washington Post

by The Editors on January 26, 2008

Ph2008012503401With the cornball headline “Feats on Snowboard Keep Skateboard Star Warm” the Washington Post does it’s duty to cover the X Games.

“There’s always something to look forward to,” said White, who will compete in X Games 12 today in the snowboarder X, snowboard slopestyle and snowboard big air, along with the snowboard superpipe tomorrow.

“Those summer months are reeeal good,” he continued. “But then you hear about all your friends being up in the mountain, it’s a nice change. But definitely by the end of the winter, I’m over it and want to get on that skateboard and be in the sun.”

Asked which sport he enjoyed more, White leaned more toward skateboarding. But he would focus only on skateboarding if it becomes an Olympic sport. If that happened, White said he would take a year off to focus on it entirely.

Jack Johnson Interviewed in Newsweek

by The Editors on January 26, 2008

He has a new album coming out on February 5, 2008 so that means Jack Johnson is on the media tour, including an interview with Newsweek where he said the following regarding his EniroRider:

The rider covers not just what’s in your dressing room, which is what most people know about the rider. It has more to do with stage specifications. It could cover anything from low-energy lighting to requesting biodiesel in any generators that have to be used. I think this time around we’re going to try to see what can be requirements for the venues. There are certain venues that contacted us after the last tour and said they’d made a lot of changes. It’s nice to hear that the tour does have an effect on people and trying to better their venues.

Green it up, little darling, green it up. . .
