According to The Daily Dish, former pro skateboarder and actor Jason Lee is marrying his pregnant girlfriend Ceren Alkac.
Two months after announcing the model is expecting a baby girl later this year, Lee and Alkac were snapped waiting in line at a Norwalk, Calif., courthouse on Monday.
This kind of coverage should be listed as just one more downside to fame.

You’ve have to go back all the way to Tigerbeat photos of Leif Garrett on a skateboard to come up with someone with the ability to drive teen girls wild like Cryin’ Ryan Sheckler. And USA Today is all over the story.
He also has become a teen heartthrob who attracts hordes of squealing, screaming female fans to his competitions and public appearances. “I think of myself as a skateboarder first and a guy on TV second,” he said in an interview after the June 19-22 Dew Tour Panasonic Open in Baltimore, where the crowds of girls seeking his autograph were so huge, organizers had to post signs near other athletes’ tables reading “Not Ryan Sheckler.”
Confession: we watch Life of Ryan religiously. So we know what they’re talking about. Okay, not really.

This is how far our relationship with Tony Hawk has slid. We’re about to quote a United Press International report that quotes People.com as saying that. . . yes Lhotse has given birth to a baby girl.
Hawk’s wife Lhotse gave birth to Kadence Clover Hawk Monday at Scripps Memorial Hospital Monday, the athlete’s publicist told People.com.
For those tracking the stats this is Tony’s first girl. His fourth child. He has three sons from two former wives. From the video clips we’ve seen of Riley this girl is going to have skills. We couldn’t be happier for T.

A while back there was a story about a New York radio host whose fiance (Lynsi Smigo) had reportedly made a sex tape with Bam Margera. The story, which was printed in the New York Post (later removed from the website) turned out to be completely false. Now, Ms Smigo is suing the New York Post for $10 million.
Lynsi Smigo, who is engaged to Gregg (Opie) Hughes of the raunchy “Opie & Anthony Show,” accused the paper of trashing her in a Page Six item that claimed she and MTV wildman Bam Margera starred in a steamy X-rated romp.
The paper, which was fed the vicious rumor by frequent gossip page tipster Chaunce Hayden, published a correction last month acknowledging that the April 23 item was bogus, that Smigo has never even met Margera and that Hayden’s tip was “entirely incorrect.”
Where ever Bam goes the money just seems to start piling up.

Oh, I’m not gay, but I am a huge fan of Queen, Rufus Wainwright, and The Communards—so I am a huge supporter! Lets get married! Lets Party!
Maybe he can start a new video show, too: Cote’s Queer Cube. We can only hope so.

Steve & Berry’s (200 super-stores in 33 states) has figured out that if Quiksilver can sell more trunks because of Kelly Slater, and Kohls can sell most stuff because of Tony Hawk, why shouldn’t they help move some of their cheap action clothing with Laird Hamilton. Enter Wonderwall.
Last month, Hamilton unveiled his surf-and-skate-inspired men’s board shorts, graphic T-shirts, cargo shorts and polo shirts. All 200 pieces of his new Wonderwall clothing and accessories are $8.98 or less at area Steve & Barry’s stores. . . . “I’d like to say I discovered Steve & Barry’s, but they approached me about the concept,” Hamilton says. “I had little to no knowledge of their business philosophy. After a very short discussion, I realized it was something that I definitely wanted to be part of.”
We are just glad that Laird is getting paid. Because that is what he does best.

The Maloof Money Cup continues to get coverage thanks to the family’s high-rolling ways and the $500,000 in prize money. Now they’re just flaunting the parade of professional stunt jockey’s who all say the Money Cup (scheduled for July 11-13, 2008) is the best thing to ever happen to skateboarding.
Among those joining Dyrdek in the street competition will be Paul Rodriguez, Jake Duncombe and Ryan Sheckler. . . . Vert skaters entered include Shaun “The Flying Tomato” White, the Olympic snowboarding gold medalist and X Games star; Bob Burnquist, who two years ago rode a skateboard into the Grand Canyon and then parachuted the rest of the way down; Australian Jake Brown, who became an instant celebrity last summer after he survived a 40-foot fall at the X Games that was so jarring it knocked his sneakers off; Andy Macdonald; and Bucky Lasek. . . . The prizes are big, too — $100,000 for first place in street, $75,000 for first place in vert and $25,000 for women’s first place. Another $240,000 will be distributed among the first-20th finishers in street and first-10th in vert.
It’s hard to argue with all this money, but it’s even more difficult to ignore the fact that taking free money can get extremely expensive.

Bethany Hamilton, the pro surfer whose arm was bitten off by a shark, has done nothing but work since her accident. She’s a motivational speaker, author, surfer, and all of this has kept her family extremely busy according to a story in the Honolulu Advertiser.
Her father, Tom Hamilton, who still works as a waiter at a Princeville resort restaurant, and Noah share management duties such as booking flights to surf tournaments. Her other brother Tim, a videographer who specializes in bodyboarding footage, shoots surfing video of his sister, while Noah takes her still photos.
Bethany is no doubt an inspiration to all of us.

Kelly Slater will be featured in a new 3D IMAX film from The Stephen Low Corporation and Quiksilver. Titled, The Ultimate Wave” features a tried and true format for certain:
Ultimate Wave is directed by award-winning giant-screen filmmaker Stephen Low and features eight-time world champion Kelly Slater at the helm of a surf expedition, exploring the globe to find and ride the ultimate wave. An accomplished athlete, surf explorer and devout student of the natural world Slater’s fascination and engagement with the ocean will provide audiences with a remarkable portal into the world of the wave.
