Louie Vito did alright on the first night of ABC’s hit show Dancing With The Stars, you know, once you get past the fact that he’s on the show at all.
He and his parter Chelsie Hightower performed a foxtrot and finished second behind Donny Osmond and Kim Johnson. Here’s what Extra TV had to say about his number:
Professional snowboarder Louie Vito[‘s] . . . smile might be stronger than his dance moves. Carrie Ann said she was surprised by their dance, but she can tell he’s never danced before. Bruno says the performance was “so cute” and it was like watching a “dancing hobbit.” The couple earned a 19 and 8 points for their Salsa relay dance.
“Dancing hobbit?” Right. Coming from a judge Todd Richards described as “dude looks like Mr. Bean” that kind of makes sense.
Tonight (September 21, 2009) the new season of the hit ABC series Dancing With The Stars kicks off with a two-hour live show featuring our favorite dancing snowboarder Louie Vito. In an email sent out to industry heads on Sunday, 686’s Mike West encouraged everyone to vote often for Louie.
I’m going to be heading to the live show to give support (as well as get my laugh on…) Yeah, I know there’s been mixed opinions on why he’s doing this (Not to mention he’s all hip hop, only wears XXL and can’t dance to save his life) But at the end of the day, LV’s gonna make the best of it-While we get to laugh our asses off in a good way. . . If you agree, vote for Louie.

It is crunch time and now I am ready to step it up. Finally, I have all the steps down and it is now time to fine tune them and add a little extra flare. Moving my hips more in the salsa, watching what my hands do, getting my posture on point for the foxtrot and so on, will be my focus this week. Yes, I am not going to lie, I am nervous for the first show. How can I not be? I am doing something I am not comfortable with in front of the world on live TV. On the flip side, I am excited to get it going. I have been dancing every day, learning and listening for three weeks now and I am ready to show everyone what I can do. Whatever happens this first week, I have had more fun than I ever thought I would.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ got a copy of the original MTV contract with Ryan Sheckler for the first year of his reality show Life of Ryan. TMZ thinks he was overpaid, but it doesn’t really seem like it to us.
The docs show that when Sheckler was 17-years-old, dude was making $9,617.70 an episode for his reality show “Life of Ryan.” . . The docs had to be signed by his guardian and the president of his company, Ryan Sheckler Inc — both of whom happen to be his mom. . . . But Ryan wasn’t the only kid from his family cashin’ in — his brothers Kane and Shane also got paid for their sidekick roles, each were $1,500 a show.
There were eight episodes in season one so that means Ryan made $76,941.6 for having his life blown out on MTV. Aside from the fact that the show was basically an ad for Ryan Sheckler, Inc. it doesn’t seem like all the much for a hit MTV show.
Lori Petty was given five year probation after “pleading no contest last week to a misdemeanor DUI charge” in which the allegedly drunk actress allegedly hit a 14-year-old skateboarder while driving in Venice, California, according to a story in People Magazine.
The actress will pay fines and receive outpatient treatment and attend AA meetings, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records. A second DUI charge was dismissed as part of Petty’s plea deal.
The New York Times Magazine tells the story of Spike Jonze and his latest film Where The Wild Things Are. Writer Saki Knafo has written the best story we’ve ever read about Spike, and we’ve read them all. It’s long, but well worth it.
