Consumer Products<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asaentertainment.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">ASA Entertainment<\/a><\/strong> throw a contest on the opening day at the new Venice skatepark they said now way according to a story in the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2009\/08\/venice-skateboarders-win-battle-over-who-get-first-dibs-on-skatepark.html\" target=\"_blank\">LA Times<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Last week, various skateboarders and skating groups complained to parks officials and to L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Venice-area City Councilman Bill Rosendahl that the opening of the skateboard park should be staged by and for locals. . . This week, parks officials agreed.
