Following the closure multiple items from the site were auctioned off. . . In 2022, Overton Moore Properties bought the waterpark site for more than <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kjzz.org\/2022-04-13\/content-1771985-tempe-big-surf-waterpark-site-sold-49-million\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">$49 million<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if this turns out to be the endgame for most wave pools being built today.
