All this because men\u2019s and women\u2019s skateboard park and street events will make their Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2028 \u201cThere wasn&#8217;t a better way to cap off five national championship events than being able to announce our 2020 national team,\u201d said Josh Friedberg, CEO of USA Skateboarding. \u201cWith the support of <strong>Toyota<\/strong>, <strong>Nike<\/strong>, and the <strong>USOPC<\/strong>, we have been able to evolve as an organization to better support the needs of more skateboarders during the second season of qualifying for the Olympics in Tokyo. We\u2019re really excited to be a part of skateboarding\u2019s impact on the Olympic movement and can\u2019t wait to watch our American skateboarders do what they do best in Tokyo next summer!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For the official word from USA Skateboarding, please follow the jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The USA Skateboarding 2019 National Championships Concludes Today with a Newly-Named 2020 National Team<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-Two Skateboarders Named to 2020 USA Skateboarding National Team<\/p>\n<p>Vista, Calif. (October 20, 2019) \u2014 USA Skateboarding &#8211; the governing body for skateboarding in the United States &#8211; announced 22 members would join the 2020 USA Skateboarding National Team. Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Skateboard Park and Street events will make their Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere wasn&#8217;t a better way to cap off five national championship events than being able to announce our 2020 national team,\u201d said Josh Friedberg, CEO of USA Skateboarding. \u201cWith the support [from sponsors], and the USOPC, we have been able to evolve as an organization to better support the needs of more skateboarders during the second season of qualifying for the Olympics in Tokyo.
