Over the last three years things have not gone well for neither <a href=\"http:\/\/www.west49.com\"><strong>West 49<\/strong><\/a> nor Billabong and now, according to a story in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theaustralian.com.au\/business\/companies\/billabong-to-sell-off-stores-in-canada\/story-fn91v9q3-1226649524349\"><em><strong>The Australian<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Billabong is trying to sell all 70 stores, even though they still haven&#8217;t announced the results of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/index.php?s=paul+naude\"><strong>Paul Naude&#8217;s take over attempt<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The business cannot stand still,&#8221; a company spokesman said. &#8220;We have previously detailed our plans around transformation and global simplification including retail, and where . . . appropriate we will action them.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As a reminder, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zumiez.com\/\"><strong>Zumiez<\/strong><\/a> tossed in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=16721\"><strong>an offer to buy West 49 in 2010<\/strong><\/a> and many are already speculating that they might be in line to pick up some Canadian stores at what will likely be a huge discount over their last offer.
