According to a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zacks.com\/stock\/news\/76219\/nike-to-divest-umbro-and-cole-haan\" target=\"_blank\">Zacks.com<\/a><\/strong>, the owner of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hurley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hurley<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.converse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Converse<\/a><\/strong> is planning to &#8220;divest&#8221; soccer brand <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.umbro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Umbro<\/a><\/strong> and its dress shoe label <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colehaan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cole Haan<\/a><\/strong><strong>. <\/strong>And they hope to get it done by May of 2012.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We believe the reason behind the divestiture is that Cole Haan and Umbro\u2019s performance does not match with the performance of Nike\u2019s other brands. . . We believe the company\u2019s decision to divest its two underperforming brands will boost its bottom line.
