Burton Snowboards<\/a><\/strong> has apparently decided that their girls need their own special place to hangout online. (Burtoxy?) The site is called Burtongirls.com<\/a><\/strong> and it features a forum, contributor content, “Burton outfits,” and place to share things on Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith burtongirls.com we wanted to create a forum where girls could discover fun, unique and diverse content around the lifestyle and culture of our sport,\u201d stated Donna Carpenter<\/strong>, President of Burton. \u201cThere are so many cool aspects to our lifestyle \u2013 from traveling and meeting people all over the world, getting to ride the best mountains on the planet and working with the best snowboarders, and burtongirls.com reflects all of that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

BURLINGTON, VT (December 2, 2011) Since the early days of Burton Snowboards, women have always helped shape the team, the products and the company. Today marks another milestone with the launch of burtongirls.com, Burton\u2019s first online community dedicated to women and the snowboard lifestyle. <\/p>\n

\u201cWith burtongirls.com we wanted to create a forum where girls could discover fun, unique and diverse content around the lifestyle and culture of our sport,\u201d stated Donna Carpenter, President of Burton. \u201cThere are so many cool aspects to our lifestyle \u2013 from traveling and meeting people all over the world, getting to ride the best mountains on the planet and working with the best snowboarders, and burtongirls.com reflects all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The freshly launched burtongirls.com website features five content sections, chosen to represent all of the facets of the true Burton girl lifestyle. The first of course is \u2018Snowboarding\u2019, followed by \u2018Travel\u2019, \u2018Health & Beauty\u2019, \u2018Style & Culture\u2019 and \u2018Apr\u00e8s\u2019. And contributing to all of this content is a group of more than 30 female contributors, all who share a love for what our lifestyle is all about.<\/p>\n

Burton team riders like Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, Gabi Viteri and Linn Haug are the foundation of the site, sharing stories about their travels, riding, fitness, fashion, favorite foods and more. And backing them up is a diverse crew of cool and talented women broken up into categories.<\/p>\n

The first group is called the \u2018Burtonistas\u2019, who are outside contributors from fashion, entertainment, cuisine, photography, snowboarding and more. This includes actress Joy Bryant, model Noot Seear, DJ Jasmine Solano, and the Barefoot Contessa, just to name a few. There is also an \u2018Inner Voice\u2019 group, featuring women who work on the inside at Burton. These women will be providing an insider\u2019s perspective on life at Burton, travel, products, Burton milestones and more. And lastly, the site features the voice of Burton\u2019s Shopgirls program, a group of girls who work in snowboard shops and who really are some of the most passionate snowboarders around.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond excited to be a part of burtongirls.com,\u201d says actress and Burton girls contributor Joy Bryant, who currently plays the role of \u2018Jasmine\u2019 on NBC\u2019s \u201cParenthood\u201d. \u201cSnowboarding is what I love to do most \u2013 I\u2019m always on the mountain, dreaming about the mountain or trying to get to the mountain. And I can\u2019t wait to share all of my on and off mountain antics with the Burton girls community.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to all of the amazing contributor content, the site also allows girls to check out the ultimate Burton outfits, share content via Facebook and Twitter, and coming soon will be great calendar info on all the awesome events happening throughout the winter.
