{"id":20530,"date":"2010-12-23T14:20:58","date_gmt":"2010-12-23T22:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=20530"},"modified":"2010-12-23T22:44:31","modified_gmt":"2010-12-24T06:44:31","slug":"lyndie-irons-requests-autopsy-report-delay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=20530","title":{"rendered":"Lyndie Irons Requests Autopsy Report Delay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lyndie Irons<\/strong>, widow of <strong>Andy Irons,<\/strong> is asking a Texas court to delay by six months the results of the three-time world champion&#8217;s autopsy and report because she fears it will &#8220;damage the . . . surfer&#8217;s brand,&#8221; according to a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/2010\/12\/23\/32862.htm\">Courthouse News Service<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Based upon &#8216;leaks&#8217; that have already occurred within the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tarrantcounty.com\/emedicalexaminer\/site\/default.asp\">Tarrant County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office<\/a><\/strong> and the press reaction to those leaks, the branding of Andy Irons&#8217; company will be immediately, irreparably and severely tarnished if the official autopsy report is released at this time, when the coverage of this event by the press is at a frenzy,&#8221; she says.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sadly, it is requests like this that lead to even more speculation and make it seem that there is more to be worried about. Ultimately, we hope Lyndie&#8217;s wishes are respected. We will have years to discuss the autopsy results after the civilian media has moved on to some other tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>[<strong>Update 8:55 PM<\/strong>: A Terrant County Judge has reportedly approved Lyndie&#8217;s request to delay the autopsy release until after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention can conduct some research, according to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitv.com\/r\/26263236\/detail.html\" target=\"_blank\">KITV.com<\/a><\/strong>.
