The Air Pacific 747 jetliner they were on bound for Fiji and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nixonnow.com\/happenings\/nixon-takes-to-the-high-seas-for-the-high-tide-1080.html\" target=\"_blank\">NIxon High Tide Hold &#8217;em<\/a><\/strong> on Tavarua was forced to turn back to LAX when it was discovered that the plane had a &#8220;fuel transfer problem,&#8221; according to a story in the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/local\/la-me-lax-emergency-14-2009feb14,0,5507389.story\" target=\"_blank\">LA Times<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Airport police Sgt. Daniel Vaughn says the Boeing 747, carrying 441 passengers and crew, landed safely shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Todd was feeling very lucky this morning in a chat with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yobeat.com\/2009\/02\/todd-richardss-emergency-landing\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yobeat.com<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLuckiest day of my life so far. Two and a half hours out, the pilot comes on and says we have a fuel problem, we need to turn around. We head back, then circle Catalina Island for 2.5 hours then come in to land with a full fire brigade right there.
