This weekend officially kicked of the competitive snowboarding “I-want-to-go-to the-Olympics” season with the flame retardant, mouse dissolving, caffeinated, carbonated high fructose corn syrup<\/a><\/strong> event at Breckenridge, Colorado December 12-15, 2013.<\/p>\n

It was the weekend of Shaun White’s nemeses. Thanks to an ankle injury in the halfpipe final (again) Shaun White<\/strong> finished second behind a hard charging Greg Bretz <\/strong>(pictured above). Then White decided to sit out the slope style event which was taken by Olympic Gold Medal favorite Mark McMorris<\/strong>. It would appear Shaun is already plotting out a dramatic Olympic storyline.<\/p>\n

On the women’s side Torah Bright<\/strong> edged Kelly Clark<\/strong> in the pipe (Elena Hight<\/strong> didn’t land a run, sadly and Hannah Teter <\/strong>didn’t make the final finishing 16th in qualifying).
