{"id":4141,"date":"2009-01-16T08:05:41","date_gmt":"2009-01-16T16:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=4141"},"modified":"2009-01-16T08:05:43","modified_gmt":"2009-01-16T16:05:43","slug":"new-zealand-shark-chases-surfers-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=4141","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand Shark Chases Surfers Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At New Zealand&#8217;s Karitane Beach today surfers got out of the water in a hurry after spotting a shark according to a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stuff.co.nz\/4820714a11.html\" target=\"_blank\">Stuff.co.nz<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Constable <strong>John Paul Tremain<\/strong> said it was a very large shark and one of the surfers chased out of the water was a veteran surfer in the area. . . .&#8221;So for him to bail out of the water it means that he&#8217;s frightened enough obviously to get out so it&#8217;s fairly serious.&#8221; . . .At this stage it was unknown what type of shark it was.<br \/>\n&#8220;I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s a white shark or a mako or a tiger &#8211; its lurking in the surf and in the inlet.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We think it odd that anyone would think any surfer would stay in the water after seeing a large shark.
