That person&#8217;s condition wasn&#8217;t immediately known. . . The victims all had avalanche beacons, Krueger added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The names of the snowboarders have not yet been released. According to the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/avalanche.state.co.us\/\">Colorado Avalanche Information Center<\/a><\/strong> (quoted in a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/headlines\/2013\/04\/five-snowboarders-believed-dead-in-colorado-avalanche\/\">ABC News<\/a><\/strong>) this is the second deadliest avalanche in the United States since 1950. Our thoughts are with all of their families and friends.<\/p>\n<p>[Update Sunday, April 21, 2013 via <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/weather\/2013\/04\/21\/authorities-identify-5-snowboarders-killed-in-loveland-pass-avalanche-all-from\/\">Fox News<\/a><\/strong>: The Sheriff&#8217;s office released the names of the snowboarders and skier this morning and sadly they are snow industry family. They are: <strong>Christopher Peters<\/strong>, 32, of Lakewood; <strong>Joseph Timlin<\/strong>, 32, of Gypsum; <strong>Ryan Novack<\/strong>, 33, of Boulder; <strong>Ian Lanphere<\/strong>, 36, of Crested Butte; and <strong>Rick Gaukel<\/strong>, 33, of Estes Park.
