For <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiksilver.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Quiksilver<\/a><\/strong> a $5.1 million loss is much better than last year&#8217;s $81.7 million Q2 loss, according to a story in <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/ap\/2012-06\/D9V8HN481.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Businessweek<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The surf-inspired clothing and gear company posted a loss of $5.1 million, or 3 cents per share, for the quarter that ended April 30. That is down from $81.7 million, or 51 cents per share, in the same quarter last year, when the company incurred a $74.1 million non-cash goodwill impairment charge on its business in Australia and Japan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Quiksilver&#8217;s stock was up 25 cents to $2.69.
