Bergthold said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Thanks to everyone who has had a hand in such amazing projects as Go Skateboarding Day to creating the Skateboarding Summit. IASC is in great hands with Josh [Friedberg] and while the decision to leave was a difficult one, I can only hope that my nearly 6 years of service has helped pave the way for him to work toward a new and improved trade association for skateboarding.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bergthold says she will be working on 900 Films new Youtube action sports channel <strong>Ride<\/strong>. The channel, part of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/michaelhumphrey\/2011\/10\/31\/youtube-channels-the-delicate-shift-from-social-to-mass-media\/\" target=\"_blank\">Youtube&#8217;s new content strategy<\/a><\/strong>, is set to launch on January 16, 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After six years as Marketing Director of the International Association of Skateboard Companies Laurie Bergthold has announced that she is leaving the skateboarding trade organization to join Tony Hawk&#8217;s motion media production company 900 Films.
