Rice<\/a><\/strong>, according to a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wgrz.com\/news\/article\/127241\/37\/Doctor-Charged-in-Fatal-Amherst-Hit-and-Run\" target=\"_blank\">WGRZ.com<\/a><\/strong>. Alexandria was skateboarding home from work at 11:20 PM, according to <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.buffalonews.com\/city\/communities\/amherst\/article483035.ece\" target=\"_blank\">Buffalo News<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, when she was hit and thrown 60 feet down the road.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Police arrested and charged <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.buffalomedicalgroup.com\/staff\/corasantiJames.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. James G. Corasanti<\/a><\/strong>, 55, Getzville, with DWI and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. . . Authorities say Rice, was riding her skateboard near 573 Heim Rd. when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. . . A police investigation located Dr. Corasanti at a gas station on Millersport Highway. Police say a 2010 BMW was later located in the Dr. Corasanti&#8217;s garage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sure, doctors are people, too. But to think that someone who has taken the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hippocratic_Oath\">Hippocratic Oath<\/a><\/strong> could drive away after running down a girl on a skateboard blows our minds. If Corasanti is guilty (he is currently out of jail on a $100,000 bond) this should be a career ender for the gastroenterologist and clinical associate professor of medicine at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/medicine.buffalo.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences<\/a><\/strong>.
