\"Taylorpitz.Chrisgrantweb\"<\/a>Without going into any cranky rantings about how bullshit anything over a 4.0 grade point average is (because we all know honors classes are easier for all kinds of reasons), we do think it’s cool that surfers who get good grades are recognized by the National Scholastic Surfing Association<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So, for 2011 here are the best GPA in the line-up:<\/p>\n

Canyon Crest Academy’s<\/a><\/strong> Tad McCardell<\/strong> 4.7 GPA
\nOlive Grove Charter’s<\/a><\/strong> Parker Coffin<\/strong> 4.67 GPA
\nLaguna Beach High’s<\/a><\/strong> Taylor Pitz<\/strong> 4.4 GPA (pictured right)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

(June 15, 2011 \u2013 Huntington Beach, Ca) — One of the primary goals of the National Scholastic Surfing Association is to emphasize and encourage the academic achievement of its membership. The Surfer Scholar list serves to recognize NSSA student surfers who have a passion for learning and have excelled scholastically. The National Scholastic Surfing Association congratulates all of our student surfers who have maintained an outstanding 3.5 GPA or higher for the 2010-11 school year. We are proud to honor these outstanding student athletes!
