{"id":23371,"date":"2011-05-23T11:34:38","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T18:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=23371"},"modified":"2011-05-23T11:38:19","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T18:38:19","slug":"irons-family-not-delaying-anything","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=23371","title":{"rendered":"Irons Family Not Delaying Anything"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/feb09_23.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/feb09_23.jpg','popup','width=1000,height=750,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=yes,left=0,top=0');return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/feb09_23-tm.jpg\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"Feb09 23\" \/><\/a>In a statement released to &#8220;the media&#8221; (we didn&#8217;t get it), the Irons family has reportedly denied <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=23296\" target=\"_blank\">asking a Texas judge to delay the release<\/a><\/strong> of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/index.php?s=%22Andy+Irons%22\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Irons<\/a><\/strong><strong>&#8216;<\/strong> autopsy toxicology report, according to <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.surfinglife.com.au\/news\/asl-news\/6132-the-irons-family-speak-out\" target=\"_blank\">Surfing Life<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;A lawyer in Dallas, operating without authorization from the family, made a unilateral decision to request a delay on behalf of the family as a way to provide sufficient time for the 10-page toxicology report to be translated into laymen&#8217;s terms and prevent the risk of its being misconstrued or misunderstood. \u2026 Unfortunately, this delay has now caused a firestorm of media speculation about the intentions of Andy&#8217;s family.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the statement the family also wanted to clear up some other issues relating to things Andy&#8217;s wife Lyndie was quoted as saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Firstly, Mrs. Irons has long regretted her previous remark about the truth \u201ctarnishing Andy\u2019s brand,\u201d which she attributes to her confusion and grief at the time of learning of her husband\u2019s passing. Secondly, Mrs. Irons\u2019 quote that she believes the autopsy results will \u201ccontradict the rumors [of] a drug overdose\u201d does not reflect Lyndie Irons\u2019 or the family\u2019s beliefs today. We know that Andy\u2019s life and death were tainted by drugs and are ready to accept the Medical Examiner\u2019s findings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We&#8217;re looking forward to all of this being over.
