Like many people who were on their way home from the ASR show, we exited at Carlsbad’s La Costa Blvd. To check out the Vans El Ponto Loco<\/a><\/strong> WQS 2 Star event that’s been going on for the last three days. Shey Yates<\/strong> (above) got up under it, but ended up fourth in heat #4 of the quarter finals.<\/p>\n

By the time the finals rolled around the wind was up, the tide was up, and it seemed like the entire heats would go by with only three or four waves. That didn’t stop any of the surfers from making the most of the almost non-existant surf. Here are the results:<\/p>\n

      \nMike Parsons<\/strong> with one of the best “who’s the doad with the camera” looks we’ve gotten in quite a while. Kelly Slater<\/strong>, Jim Hogan<\/strong> and the rest of the crew hanging out back by the PCH.<\/p>\n

      \nThe girl in the middle has braces and she doesn’t want you to see them. Not even for a second. Seriously. That’s as far as she will smile.<\/p>\n

      \nPeter Mel<\/strong> getting the word from Casey Brown<\/strong>, after he won Heat #4 in the men’s semi-finals.<\/p>\n

      \nIt felt like we were the only people who weren’t getting paid to be here.<\/p>\n

      \nAustin Ford on his way out to Billabong Pro Jr. quarter final #1.<\/p>\n

      \nNat Young winning the Billabong Jr. Pro in a heat that saw very few waves.<\/p>\n

      \"Brown<\/a>
      \nCasey Brown on the unusually high scoring way that gave him the win.<\/p>\n

      \nAndrew Doheny, Nat Young, Brent Reilly, and Blake Jones (4, 1, 3, 2)<\/p>\n

      \nBrad Ettinger<\/strong>, Jason Collins<\/strong>, Casey Brown<\/strong>, and Dillon Perillo<\/strong> (4,3,1,2)<\/p>\n
