{"id":16315,"date":"2010-06-17T18:12:11","date_gmt":"2010-06-18T01:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=16315"},"modified":"2010-06-18T16:12:51","modified_gmt":"2010-06-18T23:12:51","slug":"things-not-so-ok-at-ok-skate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=16315","title":{"rendered":"Things Not So OK At OK Skate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/ok_skate.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/ok_skate.jpg','popup','width=128,height=58,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=yes,left=0,top=0');return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/ok_skate-tm.jpg\" height=\"45\" width=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"Ok Skate\" \/><\/a><strong>[This post was updated at 4:03 PM, June 18, 2010]<\/strong> We got an email on June 17, 2010  announcing that &#8220;due to some unforeseen circumstances&#8221; <strong>Joey Coleman<\/strong>, <strong>Joe Quattrocchi<\/strong>, <strong>Jamie Gonzalez<\/strong>, <strong>Nick Wisda<\/strong>, and<strong> Shane Wallace<\/strong> are &#8220;no longer with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.okskate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">OK Skate<\/a><\/strong>.&#8221; All we can say is &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=15737\" target=\"_blank\">Damn, that was fast<\/a><\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shane Wallace has now confirmed that OK Skate is open for business, that he is no longer involved, and that he has &#8220;been advised to only release very limited information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other sources report that part of the management team wanted to &#8220;do things right this time&#8221; and apparently their idea of &#8220;the right thing&#8221; differed from that of the people who control the OK Skate brand.<\/p>\n<p>OK Skate&#8217;s new CEO <strong>Rick Schwartz<\/strong> says that some changes have been made:. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We have made some changes and unfortunately some members of our team are no longer with OK Skate,&#8221; he said in an email. &#8220;Also, we have closed our retail store.  However, the OK Skate web site www.okskate.com is operational and we intend to make it bigger and better than before.  The company will be focused on being a web only business. . . . Like any new company that is still in &#8220;start up mode&#8221; we are still working on refining our business.
