While we have no interest in doing the same, nor in watching Mr. Galbraith&#8217;s bird murdering missions live and in person, we do still enjoy reading about them.<\/p>\n<p>In the May\/June issue of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sierraclub.org\/sierra\/201005\/ducks.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Sierra Club&#8217;s Sierra Magazine<\/a><\/strong> (whose Acting Deputy Editor just happens to be <strong>Steve Hawk<\/strong> (yes, that one)), Jeff has written touchingly about hunting in Washington State&#8217;s Whatcom Wildlife Area with his dog <strong>Dr. Gonzo Yellow Dog<\/strong> and friends in a story titled <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sierraclub.org\/sierra\/201005\/ducks.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">On Ducks, Jobs, and Farmlands Forever<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the story he mentions his favorite flowering shrub (the alder), LEED-certified subdivisions, and former <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mount_Baker_Hard_Core\" target=\"_blank\">MBHC<\/a><\/strong> snowboarding badass and current Shell Oil employee <strong>Dan Donnelly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it is a strange mix, but read it anyway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[Link: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sierraclub.org\/sierra\/201005\/ducks.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Sierra Magazine<\/a><\/strong><strong>]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At certain times of the year Frequency: The Snowboarder&#8217;s Journal publisher Jeff Galbraith (pictured above left) has been known to get up early, trudge out into the cold with his dog, and blast low-flying, web-footed birds from the sky with a 12-gauge shotgun.
