The company is <strong>Chartreuse &#38; Mont Blanc <\/strong>and it&#8217;s lead by <strong>Bruno Cercley<\/strong> a former CEO of Rossignol.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The proposed transaction is valued at EUR100 million, which comprise of EUR75 million in cash and a EUR25 million Seller&#8217;s Note. Quicksilver intends to use the net proceeds from the sale to repay existing indebtedness.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chartreuse &#38; Mont Blanc is mostly owned by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.macquarie.com\/us\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Macquarie Group<\/a><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>which also owns a minority interest in the<strong> <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jarden.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jarden Group<\/a><\/strong><strong> (<\/strong>owners of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.k2sports.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">K2<\/a><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>and<strong> <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adiofootwear.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adio<\/a><\/strong><strong>), <\/strong>according to a story on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/news\/story\/quiksilver-inc-receives-binding-offer\/story.aspx?guid=%7BEC181CBD-FCFC-4316-B918-9C4544B73EC2%7D&amp;dist=hppr\" target=\"_blank\">MarketWatch<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>What a stunning business transaction this has been. Here are the numbers: They bought Rossignol in March of 2005 for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/money\/industries\/manufacturing\/2005-03-22-quicksilver-rossignol_x.htm\" target=\"_blank\">$320 million<\/a><\/strong>. Then sold off the <strong>Cleveland Golf<\/strong> portion of the company in November of 2007, for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boardistan.com\/?p=73\" target=\"_blank\">$132.5 million<\/a><\/strong>. So, it looks like Quiksilver only lost about $30 million on the deal in a little under three years.
