While everyone else was out on the Saturday night party circuit (Kris Markovich art opening in Oside<\/a><\/strong>, and Neck Face opening in LA<\/a><\/strong>), some of surfing’s elder statesmen gathered at the Surfing Heritage Foundation<\/a><\/strong> for the 3rd Annual Summer Surf Film Series (August 16, 2008). Saturday’s feature was Dana Brown’s High Water<\/a><\/strong> <\/strong>which chronicles the events surrounding the 2005 Triple Crown of Surfing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the VIP room Wes Miller<\/a><\/strong> was playing smooth classic hits on his ukelele, Jesse Billhauer<\/strong> was rolling, Jim Kempton<\/strong> was signing copies of his book Surfing: The Manual: Advanced<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, while Randy Rarick<\/strong> and Spencer Croul<\/strong> were talking story. Everyone else was checking out the old boards and grabbing a bite.<\/p>\n
